I got my Virus TI a few days ago, and as I started having problems with the VST portion of it, I started reading the forums and learning that I'm not alone. (Like others, I'm now waiting for 1.1 and crossing my fingers).
However, I have to say that I moved past this, and am VERY happy with using MIDI cables and SPDIF.
However, it's so depressing seeing how slick the VST UI is, and knowing I can't use it yet. It's just SOOOOO nice; except for the latency and major timing issues. ;)
I'm sure this has been asked before, but why can't they let those of us who are HAPPY with using MIDI-cables and SPDIF use the VST for just certain things:
1) I want the "total recall" feature that comes with using a VST. Sysex is a pain in the butt.
2) I would like to be able to SHAPE the sound using a VST-UI: It's just so much easier to set an envelope on a filter using a visual representation rather than ADSR knobs.
Anyway, is there ANY chance that a future version of the VST would let me use MIDI and SPDIF OUTSIDE of the VST, but let me use the VST for a few simple things?
