Virus TI
happens to burn amplifiers and speakers and the support tries to disencourage device replacement
is compatible with just a few hosts - only the latest versions are supported
hangs up
arps lose rhythm
occasionally generates very loud screech - so better use limiters
Access
misinform about host compatibility
encourage host updating which does not change anything
keep selling unfinished product

however i feel in this age you have to be totally skeptical of advertising claims. They use fancy wording that has to be reviewed by lawyers.
It is your duty as a consumer to make sure the product is legitimate.
It's a sad state...but a true one.

very true.....
but what if they cant?
i hope they will but you never know.
like the hubble maybe it is destined to always be flawed.
in this type of scenario i imagine some 3rd party developer
writing a new synth engine to run on the ti hardware 8O
maybe something like scope or kyma
time will tell...but i bet it is difficult right now to get rid of a TI second hand.

absolutely, I was looking for used TIs on ebay, unfortunately I overslept the auction because it was sold for 1200 Euros instead of 1700, and was almost never used... if you compare this to virus c being sold for about 900-1000 Euros... fu*k
We're lucky to have Waldorf back when Access is going under.
Of course I wish the best of luck for all German synth companies because they build the best synths in the world. Shame that the TI thing just doesn't work. I have already seen 2 second hand TI's for sale here in Finland.

It's an international internet phrase.
yup, laughing my arse off. other derivatives include:
lmfao, no description need
roflmao, rolling on floor...
lmbo, laughing my bollocks/bum off.
the word 'bollocks' in general, however, is actually an english thing, i think. shame really, it's rather a splendid word and has countless uses. :)

Before selling my TI for auction,i will write a mail to consumer services and see what are the options in refunding me ....
If things dont get better,i think ppl should consider this in a worlwide scale...!!
Why loosing 400?...If you buy a new car,and it has some kind of braking problems(Mercedes Class A comes to mind),the company/group has to loose money, fix the problem!!!If they dont the product is not ready has advertidsed!!Wich is defenitly illegal !!
I will wait for the new OS though, but only 1.1 after this one if things dont get solved,or improve considerably, then i will start my quest for getting back my money...
This TI issue is common knowledge these days..A kneighbour?s kid wich is starting making some beats after his father bought him Reason and some speakers  ,sometimes comes to my studio, and even this kid has listened that the new Virus TI is not ok ..It has bugs like he says

I doubt access will be able to sort out the problems with the TI bit- There are some rather unpredictable issues with USB1, so this was definitely a bad decision. But I can't imagine access not being able to get that synth stable on its own so that you are at least able to use it as a not integrated synth... unless there are hardware issues that are causing the pops and resurrecting saw noises etc.
Househead

Access advertised the TI would do this and that but lets face it...False promises.
Still waiting for OS1.1
I doubt access will be able to sort out the problems with the TI bit- There are some rather unpredictable issues with USB1, so this was definitely a bad decision.
Exactly. I was worried about this already when Access introduced the TI over a year ago and sent them email and asked some questions about it's functionality (latency, cpu usage, compatibility with different setups etc.) and they said it will work just fine without any noticable latency, cpu usage or any other problems. However I doubted it and after over 6 months of it's release it still doesn't work well.
But I can't imagine access not being able to get that synth stable on its own so that you are at least able to use it as a not integrated synth... unless there are hardware issues that are causing the pops and resurrecting saw noises etc.
I hope so too. And I hope Waldorf won't go with any total integration or they're going under again. Why don't these companies just let the synths be synths with midi + audio? It always works!
Alcohol is bad, drugs are bad, software is bad, don't do TI, mm'kay...
And I hope Waldorf won't go with any total integration or they're going under again.
Well, I think Terratec bought them out, who were primarily a soundcard maker, so the two together would likely use either's resources and compliment each other well. If they do.
I wonder what "brand/manufacturer" soundcard Access used for the TI. Would be great if they teamed up with RME, Motu, or Echo for the Ti2.
Khazul

I think they used a readily available hardware+driver kit that was allready proven to work reliably.
Despite what people have found, my experience with the TI audio is that its the only USB audio interface that I have found to be reliable and glitch free, but then the fixed latency over the USB in this implementation is rediculously high - way higher than most people would set it for comfortable working.

wow
i just cant believe its going down the way it is!
this probably already has ruined access reputation
such a shame.
its rather obvious they don't have a working driver yet...
they must want to shoot somebody.
it would have made a damn good reality TV show to see all these things unfold inside access :o
the arguments, the drama, the impending doom.
its also amazing that my other integrated synth ..theWALDORF MICROWAVE PC made in 1998 works absolutely great!
although it uses a daughter card plugged into an isa slot for connection
between the hardware and computer

I dont own the ti yet and going by the posts i wont waste my money on a ' non ' finished synth. What woprries me is the clicks and pops and crashes when using asa ' basic ' midi cable and audio cable midi unit.Clicks and pops using usb as audio ?thats understandable as its anything related to using pc and audio ! but to do this as a stand alone unit ? this is very bad .To pay ?1299 or so for the privelage of having your speakers shredded and the hassle ? thats crazy . . . . greed and money again - do you really believe they didnt have these hassles themselves before releasig the Ti ? they didnt test multi mode ? i'm sorry but i own may synths over a 15 year period and None have had these kind of malfunctions .I can understand issues with Usb / audio / pc etc etc but as stand alone box with basic cables ?to ' occasionallycrash , shred speakers with noise ? . . . this is really sad access and really selfish . . . . . .this is how compnaies go bust . . . .

Im waiting for a Ti MKII (beit software or a hardware update) because I have sensitive hearing and I absolutely cannot stand digital distortions and thuds at high volume. Im sure other people have more practical reasons such as wanting more channels over USB and lower latency....
I'm sure the guys who already own the TI will be ok once they are satisfied that their synth works well in their setup. OS1.1 had better satisfy 95% of people or its curtains. I dont work for access but i can feel their stress....it must be total hell over there right now...
The music world is getting worse. I have 101 opinions as to why that is....subject for a different thread but I'll state a few now...
1) Recordings are too hot and lack the dynamic soul of analog recordings and vinyl recordings. Im finding an increasing number of contempory CD's unpleasant to listen to
2) Music is too serious these days. We take ourselves way too seriously. But is this a suprise? Nope....because music reflects the feelings of society at that time and nowadays we are all highly overworked, over stressed and fed up. Here check out this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mIRbQk7VWk&search=live%20synth).... I wish I could get some earrings like that for my girlfriend!

Hi. Do you really want to try? What do you think the chances are?
Please do keep me informed if there is any progress.
Indeed, if access don't finish what they sell, they should accept all the garbage back. Then we can think about TI2, me after the forums confirm everything is fine.

Im sure Access are all over this problem. Barking at them and being irate will serve only to irritate you so dont fall into it.
This is what happens when you buy a new product which pushes the boundaries. The auto industry has been doing it for years and has cost me a LOT more than ?1500.
Chill, use your keyboard, live with it for now. But we should group together and put a combined communication to access. If they dont respond then they deserve a bit of pressure and it can go to Sound on Sound.
Whatever opinions you have on the bugs and failures of the TI, it is still a incomplete product with alot of failures.
There is no way Access can refuse to fix it, and since they cant (what... spending 2 months on doing some fucking search routines.. and now claims they also gonne fix 'issues' with the TI before releasing the update!!?.. LMFAO!!) ....they have to refound.
What I still dont understand, is why they dont release a pure MIDI VSTi for the TI, so it actually is possible to work with it in old fashioned way, without using a 3rd party software for sending sysex...who know, I sometimes start wondering if it is a lack of brain that does it.
Now, I use my TI only with MIDI as this actually works... But it is like I said, pain to not beeing able to use the VSTi controller.
And after compaining again.. Why am I still using my TI ?? Heeh... because nothing beats the sound of it, and that is probally why Access havent been flooded with lawsuits yet... And that is why I am patience, and begging Access to get it working

What I still dont understand, is why they dont release a pure MIDI VSTi for the TI...
I wish it could operate like that anyway *and leave the midi ports* connected to the synth engine/keyboard.
I guess quite a few people with a mostly hardware setup would appreciate that.

A flawless change from VC to midi and back with retaining patches would be great too. VC for exploring presets and midi for musicmaking. Or simply a graphic midi interface as good as the VC's.

The vikings were Scandinavians.. ie. Swedes, Danes, and Norwegians.
Us Brits are a mixture of everyone. Celts/Gaels (Scots/Irish/Welsh), Viking (Scandinavians), Normans (French), Saxons (German), Romans (er, Italians), and probably many more... Everyone wanted this little island for some strange reason. They couldn't have come for the weather, that's for sure!! :)
