  Just took my Virus back to sound control due to total dissapointment in Access Music products.Got the Nord Lead and Native Instruments Komplete 3 in place of the Virus.
Both products espescially the Nord Lead working in total harmony. Its a shame about the Virus but it just had to go back, also 5 were returned this week due to bugs and crashes to the same shop, apparently Access told the guys that the product wasn't ready so listen to what the guy just told me in the shop only 1 hour ago...Read it and weep guys...
All Virus T.I machines are being returned to Access even the demo models in store lol
Chris the salesman has been told that 1.1 is nowhere near ready and won't be till June or July at the earliest.. So it wasnt a tough choice for me to switch to the Nord and Komplete 3 as i can't wait for ever being filled with shit by Baldy Ben and his mates no more...Nice meeting you all, maybe see you all in the Clavia Forums Chow For Now Chaps...
And goodluck luck in Siberia you guys at Access,i guess you'll be locating there once these lot string you up looooool...
cheers and Bye

My response to your track in another thread didnt make you mad did it?

But the reality is....if the magic gets tarnished (cosmetic/hardware/software fault) then I totally agree with you....you got to let it go and buy something else. This is especially true when money is tight and you wanna mentally masterbate over your latest purchase in your dreams. Goodluck with the Nord, I hope it excites you and you enjoy it for what it is - at the end of the day this enthusiasm spawns creativity and this is what music is all about.

Sorry to see you go - but I can relate....

I'm sure you will regret it though...

and your shopassistand should learn to read properly... I can't imagine that access will release 1.1 in more than a month from now, sure they meant that the next batch will be shipped in april/july. or the shopassistant is simply dumb and thinks you need the original CD to install 1.1, sure he gotta wait till april in this case... however, have fun

I returned mine as well.

It is the most beautiful sounding thing I have ever laid eyes/ears on....

I fucked my self for a week straight (like a 15 year old) when I first got the ti keyboard. But as the bugs began to manifest.........The honeymoon came to a screaching halt.

Thankfully those bus did not give me any kind of VD........

I'm getting a virus C so I can still get my stroke on, and I'll be right in line for the T2.

Thats my ingnorant NEW JERSEY, USA 2cents..... 8)

Best of luck mate!!!!

There are plenty of people that are great contributors here, that dont own a Virus, so feel free to hang around.

Yeah, hang around and dribble shit with the rest of us. No need to leave because you didn't want to remain as an alpha-tester.

Honeslty I haven't used my Virus for the last 4 or 5 tunes I've made. Actually that's wrong, I've used the Virus filters. I still hang around though, even though I'm not the strongest Virus supporter.

Have fun with the Nord! :D

Ben (as far as I know) doesnt work for Access, though obvious hes is closely associated with them due to his sound design work (the TI ROM includes his soundsets) and the many demo videos.

At the end of the day though he is TI a user like many of the rest of us.

Good luck with the Nord. The Lead 3 is still one of my gear lusts.

Having tested back to back though, I bought the Virus because comparing polyphony, oscillator sources, available effects, modulation matrices and LED displays, the Virus synths [and their rich, creamy sound] were better specified, and more in keeping with my musical style. The Lead 3 impressed me with its FM implementation, its smooth highpass filters, and its LED knobs, though. [I don't want a flame war, Clavia can have some of my money too if they want! I'm looking for a Lead 1 as we speak!]

I have to ask, though. Are you using the Nord Lead with a MIDI USB interface and Audio cables? If so, that's how most of us use the Virus.

VST integration aside, using external hardware as external hardware, it's a straight comparison between the two synths on features and sound alone. For me, the Virus is the more appropriate. I hope you enjoy the Nord [I'm sure you will, who wouldn't love that red case!], and that you feel you made the right choice, rather than returning the virus on principle.

I still want VC to work as advertised, though; or at least use it as a patch librarian/ synth control unit. The TI side did help sway my decision, and although I don't need it, I feel it's Access duty to deliver their promise. I'm sure they will.

Version 1.1 features an array of enhancements and new functionalities and will be available during February, 2006. Besides improved stability, there are two new browser functions ("Sort By Category" and "Search by Name") and the new Remote Mode to turn the Virus TI into a univeral midi control surface.

VIRUSControl can now automatically build banks based on sound categories. Every Virus TI patch is stored with one or two categories. This information can now be used to easily search for specific sounds regardless of the patch name.

"Search by Name" allows you to enter a string of text and search for patches by name (including partial match) among all onboard sounds and in sound banks stored on your computer's hard drive. It is lightning fast and can literally search ten thousand patches in a couple of milliseconds.

New remote mode turns the Virus TI into a fully programmable universal MIDI control surface with 32 knobs. Up to 32 preset scenes can be stored in the hardware, each storing up to 32 midi knob assignments and names. Remote Mode does not interfere with the sound engine and can operate as standalone hardware or in your sequencer with VirusControl. Access will provide a library of remote templates which can also be edited using VirusControl, and users can also create and share their own templates.

OS 1.1. will be available in February 2006
