yea @ the other forum there is a post:

"also i spoke with the gents in l&m and they received an email stating that access had recently switched manufacturers for the TI and that the new ones coming up should be of a "higher" build quality "

not that i believe everything i read on forums but...
this would totally suck for those that purchased the early batches!
and if it is true it sucks that the vendors get this information and not us..
the loyal band of beta testers!

it cant be true...can it?

yeah it might,
alot of synths get changed during production, usualy without the users knolage... im suprised access are so "out in the open" with it.

But then again, the buildquality is generally excellent on the Ti's out there. I seriously doubt the instabilities and such are hardware issues..

I seriously doubt that they aren`t after reading all these different issues posted by users on both forums and honestly can`t believe that nobody talks about possible hardware problems although you can pretty much only assume these things unless you actually work for Access, same units with same OS working just as standalone synths shouldn`t have all these different problems and there are many different problems or for some almost none

Greetings

New potential Ti owner reporting on the rumours of Access "improving the build quality" by contracting to a new manufacturer.

I contacted Access and they said

"The rumour about Access switching manufacturer is not true.
Access simply now uses a 2nd facility to produce units to keep up with the huge demand. That's it.
There's no difference between old and new models."

So hope that quells a few concerns

Well you know how these rumours escalate beyond "the containment zone".

Plus I was one of those paranoid gear junkies that simply needed to know for my own peice of mind...

and lets be honest... both forums are worth registering with and duping a simple post to quell the anguish of my fellow Paranoic's....

I'm actually surprised that there is any demand, given all of the bugs. So the TI is selling better than any of the previous models have? Good news! Maybe now Access will branch out and try something new?

I tend to agree with you here Array. Maybe all the preorders....

I guess only 10-20% of people who buy a TI even know about this forum and don't know anything about the bugs. The only thing these 80% know are maybe some magazine reviews (SOS, Future Music etc.) which don't tell how the synth is really working. So the demand may still be high due to the hype around TI which has existed from the day it was announced.

i dunno about you guys, but if i was access, i wouldn't admit to releasing higher quality and potentially more stable revisions of my hardware because i t would cost a fortune in equipment returns. that being said on the other forums, someone had mentioned it could be inconsequential things that would be changed, like the way it's wired, possibly the pcb arrangement etc.

the DSPs, metal and knobs and everything else will probably remain the same that make the TI what it is. that being said, the one i got ended up being a display model that i think spent some time in an employee's house for a bit, and was just returned. when i got it, it was preflashed with the beta 1.1.1 so thats the only explaination. and i've had about 1/10th of the problems people are finding. or mabye i'm just way more forgiving XD
