hi, i just found this forum today when i was at work and i took note of the url so that i could register when i got home :)
i am mainframe/Kieran. 21, male from Sydney, Australia.
been into synths for a while now but still not very advanced, i love the virus sound and im contemplating grabbing one for myself in a while, but this seemed like a nice place to learn a bit more about synthesis and music production in general.
im mainly into industrial/powernoise/hard trance etc.
but when it comes to making my own music its usually ambient or trancy.
i love lab4's sound too.
aside from my music im into body art and modification, alternative modeling, digital artistry, gadgets and technology etc.
so yeah..'hi' :)
Hi Kieran... welcome to Infekted :)
cheers

I know Turramurra Music (http://www.turramusic.com.au) has a Virus KC, and if you have charm, or know one of the guys there, I imagine they will practically give it away (it is new, but is demo stock)
I wish I had the cash, I would pick it up and get rid of my Rack.
Other than that, it is scouring the classifieds or evilbay....

im looking to buy later on in the year though when i have enough cash.
unless i could pay half and then finance the rest...hmmm...anyway.
until i get a virii of my own i will have to make do with virology on reason 3

I would go with the KC if it were me....wait another year or so for a TI, until all the bugs are ironed out. Just seems too risky with all the issues people are having.
The best guy to deal with at Turramurra Music is a guy called Mark, but hard to get in touch with as he is very popular. Always gives me and my mates a good deal, since I've put a good deal of money through there...

yeah it is mark im talking with
he seems really nice and stuff
how much do you think i could get him to come down on the kc?
whats a reasonable price?
im going there tomorrow first thing (even though its about an hour away from me in st george area)
im realllly opting for the kc atm
Ring Lewis at Planet Awave in Melbourne - tell him Pete Blay sent you.
Thats where I bought my TI keyboard - but the price I got is irrelavant cause I preordered NOV 04 - lets just say it was *competitve*.
Give em a call - they are great guys and will prob deliver for free to Syd...

Good stuff...The other guys there just dont seem as helpful. You just have to come straight out and ask him for a better price. $3000 is alot seeing that you can get a Polar for $4k
Good luck!
:)
Jase is right - considering it is a discontinued product you should be able to wrangle a better price than that.
If they cant go any lower I'd definately take the Polar...

the kc was ok, but i loved the polar, it was stable and no problems, it performed flawlessly for me, and the sound....holy mother of fuck - i loved it.
so its on layby now :)
i tried to get him to go lower on it but nah...4k is still an amazing price down from 5200 or whatever, so im satisfied.

Welcome mate,
Knew you'd go for the Polar, you just can't help yourself when you play it. I found the forums the Day before I went to buy a TI Keyboard and It sort of put me off, because of all the bug reports. I played for 5 mins before the guy saw me smile then me and my TI left. Lucky I bought my Car at the same time, gives my girl something to play with when I play TI
Hope you get it soon, mate enjoy and see you around
Cheers
Kris
and BTW - happy bday
cheers
