I don't really know much/enough about the Nords to vote. The G2 looked/sounded pretty funky, though, with its physical modelling and stuff.

You missed one - G2X - which has a decent keyboard on it, unlike the poor excuses for keys on the others.

Yeh - extra poly and a proper keyboard.

I dont think the modulars and the leads should be compared.....

So Im just voting on the leads, of which I hear the Lead II is pretty great. I havent played the rest, and only a short time with the Lead II

Nord Lead 3 is the best.

I voted for the Nord Lead G2 cause its name is longer than the others...

Never played with either of them!

I wouldn't compare the Leads vs. the Modulars. They are completly different both in sound and how they work.

Comparing the leads:

Nordlead 1. has a really agressive tone to it althou it is missing some keyfeatures which i can't remember right now (Sync and stuff like that which in my opinion is needed on synth!).

Nordlead 2. has abit softer tone but is overall a great synthesizer and has a great sound overall aswell. Really easy to create all types of sounds (leads (du'h!), pads and effects)

Nordlead 3. (Which I haven't played anything with!) is more suitable for pads (a friend of mine that has owned 1, 2 and now a 3) says that he only uses it for pads since it has loads of polyphony (compared to the other Lead X). It sure sounds good but it lacks that really agressive tone that you could get out from the other Lead X's. Still great synthesizer!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nord Modular (V1 - G1 or whatever you wanna call it!) [Aye, and micromodular] - Now this is pure fun. You have loads of modules that you can connect, use it as an effectbox if you like. Build advanced patches which sounds great!

Nord G2 - Now, this is the Rolls Royce of V/A-modulars. If you can imagine a sound, you can create it! There is absolutly nothing to say about this than it's a great sound.

ya i agree that the lead are not comparable but its good to see which of these nords deserves my money. maybe I should of made the poll different ...better next time i guess...

is the modular 2 come with presets on it? or it comes empty and u have to make your own sounds from the start?

I like the rotary controllers on the Nordlead 3 with the lights and stuff. In only a second you can see really easily how the sound was made.

Layering patches is a breeze as well.

I would love a G2, but I've always been scared all my time would go towards sound design rather than music.

I have the Nord2 and I would never sell it. I always turn to it for agressive sounds, plus it's been with me so long.
