Do you want to record the sound of the Virus in Cubase or do you want to make your sequenser play the Virus? Well in any case here are solutions to both:
To record audio from the Virus in Cubase connect out 1 on the Virus to the input of your soundcard. If you want to process sounds from your computer in the Virus also connect the output of your soundcard to ext. in on your Virus.
To make your sequenser play your Virus via. MIDI connect a MIDI-cable from MIDI out on your soundcard to MIDI in on your Virus. To record the knob movements of the Virus in Cubase also connect MIDI out from the Virus to MIDI in on the soundcard.
To make understanding even easier:
Audio connections:
Virus Out 1 -> Soundcard audio in
Soundcard audio out -> Virus Ext in
MIDI connections:
Virus MIDI out -> Soundcard MIDI in
Soundcard MIDI out -> Virus MIDI in

Yes, it is possible. You need to have the Virus in Multi or Multi-single mode. I suggest a good read of the Virus manual, all the information you need is in there. If you still get stuck, of course feel free to ask here, but it would go a long way in helping you understand the Virus if you went through the manual.
Good luck!

ok,i've done all this stuff,i made that all plays at once,it's simple when you read it.....but now,i,can't save it,it said's: ˝they are some edited singles!!!˝
i didn't see that in the manual....
anyone know what's that mean...?

Umm...I think that just means that the edits you made will effect the single patches. It shouldnt stop you from storing your multi though. I will have a play around and check...

You could either do a factory reset, restoring all original patches etc, or you could just rename the multis and create your own...

There are a couple of settings in the Virus manual when working with sequencers (lo page/hi page something...)
Most likely your problem will be with Cubase.
I think I recall making sure the MIDI channel Input/Output is both going to the Virus, then hit record (in mix mode) and tweak away. I'll check it out now and see if I can get it working.
OK. working here no probs. Make sure that on the transport in Cubase, in MIDI mode you have merge. Make sure the I/O channels both go to the Virus (and not some other controller) and then hit record and tweak. If you then double click on the MIDI part, you should be able to see the controller lanes

Sorry i didn?t get it. Do you want to record the MIDI notes or the Virus sound?
Anyway, Connect your MIDI-keyboard and your Virus to your MIDI computer. In Cubase create a MIDI-track and select the MIDI-port you connected the keyboard to as input and select the MIDI port your Virus is connected to as output. Now you are able to play your Virus from the keyboard. You want to record this as audio at the same time? No prob. Just create an audio-track in Cubase and select both tracks by pressing [shift] and click on them both (with the little red record-icon being lit on the audio-track). Now hit record and play away...

i want to record it as midi....playing notes from virus on keyboard and recording that simultaneously in key editor so i can fix them later...problem is,i don't know how to connect it..keyboard is playing only when midi in from virus goes to midi out on keyboard, but midi in from virus should go into soundcard midi out.... i'm really confused here...

Do you have more than one MIDI port?
If yes, connect keyboard and Virus to seperate MIDI ports and route the signals in Cubase as described in my last post.
If no, go to next question.
Does your keyboard have USB?
If yes, connect to an USB port on your computer and route the signals in cubase as above (your keyboard will act as a MIDI interface).
If no, go to next question.
Does your keyboard have a MIDI in port?
If yes, make the following connections:
Computer MIDI out -> Keybord MIDI in
Keyboard MIDI out/thru -> Virus MIDI in
Virus MIDI thru -> Computer MIDI in
This is called daisy chaining and it only works if both keyboard has MIDI thru. This way the signal from the MIDI in is blended with the signal from the device and send to the MIDI thru port. On some equipment the MIDI thru port is the same as MIDI out and sometimes you have to turn this on in a menu.
If no, get a MIDI interface or change cables everytime you go from recording MIDI notes and having Cubase play your Virus (i did that for a short while and then got tired of it and bought a MIDI interface).

for now i think that usb is the only solution, untill i get midi interface...keyboard have midi in,but it doesen't work anyway.. either i can listen sounds in sequencer, either i can play them....terribly...that means that i can't connect more than one device in some kind of a chain without midi interface...?
