what do think about the vocoder on the indigo 2 ? I dont think its all that great to be honest. Its also so confusing to use.

The Virus vocoda was just an add on rather than a thought out feature. I think it sounds pretty awfull compared to pretty much everything that's built into other boards.

yes I thought so. It is pretty awful. I spent hours trying to get a decent sound but couldnt get it to sound anything like what I hear in my favourite songs etc.

for that kind of sound, you really need a vocal formant filter...
like that found on the jp8080
the key to making a vocoder sound good, is to be very articulate in your speech, have a compressor and a preamp going before the vocoder to make your voice an even level, and even some overdrive if you can

And also not to use the Vocoda found in the Virus series. :D
