I'm a huuuuuuge fan of dark progressive. I love my beats to be compressed and have so much effects that it makes my head spin and want to completely lose it....buuahahaha
So I'm just curious who on this forum makes music like this or strives to.
Here is a song from an RPO mix in October 2005.
ProgressiveHouse (www.djgonzaga.com/music/insane.mp3)
Just completely amazing. This is only 1 song out of like 20 that are amazing. One after another. I live around NYC and we dont have music like this. Such a shame. All these big DJs come to NYC and they can't play anywhere near as well when they are playing a mix set or in another city. Maybe NYC just brings a bad vibe. Dunno...
I heard Satoshie Tomie at Crobar NYC and I wasnt impressed with the music or his set in comparison to his sets in other cities.....
makes my head go HOLY MOLY!!! But not last week :(
Anyways...sorry to go off on a tangent...
Back to my question...
who likes this music and produces it as well?
Thanks :)

///AznTI,
I'm feelling you on the dark prog. I grew up on psytrance and went into progressive psy. I moved to LA and now I will go to the ends of the earth for good prog. Iboga Records is my favorite label. Greyhound on the housey side is super sweeet to. Do you you a virus for making your music? I do a live set and it's so hard to do an all live progressive set because of the processing I feel I need to make it really live. I like the virus on stage alot. I DO NOT like Virus COntrol on stage at alll. BAD!
Progressive REPRESENT!

Monobeat....
I'm definitely dark progressive. Always was. But I do enjoy some trance and definitely deep house as well...since I am from NY I have to go to my roots :) Hehe
to answer you question...YES I have a polar Ti.
I'm not a musician where I can play anything by ear, but I can play and site read music on the piano. Just takes me time to warm up...hehe
I really program everything in.
And YES PROGRESSIVE REPRESENT FOR REALZ!

Download works fine here, I do that kind of sounds, but it's not exactly my type of music...

... Your from NY. I moved from RI a few years ago and everything changed. The line between progressive house and trance is sooo thin. It's a waste of time over trying to distinguish. Some use BPM and content to distinguish... whatever!? I love NY prog parties. Bridge parties, the Frying Pan, Spirit... lots of sweet memories.
I've been relying less on sequencing and more on jamming with abelton. It's great with the virus because you need less tweeeking outside the synth. How's the Polar? It is so sexy. The desktop is nice too though... wait a minute... I LOVE VIRUS'!!!!!!!!!!!
Word to the mother.

I have heard of ableton. Good program. I use Cubase SX3. Works great with what I want to do :)
AS for Club Spirit and the memories....well I stopped partying in 2001 right afer 9/11. Lost some friends and I changed. But my memories will go far back to Tunnel 95 to Arena 96-97 and Twilo days ....toall end at Vinyl with TENAGLIA and I heard Howells there...HOLY CRAP! AMAZIN!!
OH man I loved that place....all music and no douchebags....
anyways....yeah man....keep rocking ....lets hear your tunes...or what you like to create or listen to.
Time for the studio and focus :)
