Since most of you have had experience with midi controllers, I need some advice. Currently I use my CS2x as a midi controller but I would like to get rid of it so I need a new one preferably in the circa 1 - 300$ price range. Nothing too expensive but the more keys the better.
Any good suggestions>?

Bro, check out the Novation Remote 37SL or the 61SL.

Maybe a bit steeper than $300 if you buy new, but not if you buy refurbished, which is basically the same thing.

The AutoMap feature looks kick ass.

The keyboard is supposed to be the best part.

I would love one to go mobile with instead of lugging my KC around town.

If it doesn't have good keys, then what good is it?

You might want to expand your budget if at all possible...

I bought a M-Audio Axiom 61 because it got good reviews and I like the Enigma librarian that came with my Trigger Finger. The keys of the that thing were so stiff that I returned it in less than 2 weeks. It was like playing a corpses' fingers...blech!!!

I agree with Alex, novation makes some great controllers.

I just picked up an X-Station 25 myself.

Yep, I thirdly recommend a Novation. About $325-$350 for a used 25 key Remote SL, just get quick with the transpose button & you don't need more keys. Top notch keyboard, sends sysx.... can't go wrong. I'm gonna get one as soon as my broke ass gets some funds.
