I have an original Virus Indigo (the first one) which i think is awesome. I am using it with an MPC500 and have a few questions.

Is it possible to shift pitch when you are playing but sustain the notes in the previous range you were just playing? ie. you play a note that is transposed -1 and hold it down, then transpose to +1 and play higher notes while still holding the original note that you played in -1 range? I thought i had been using a patch with an arpeggiator and the lowest note kept playing when i transposed up, but lately when i try to play a note like that, as soon as i hit transpose the held note shifts up immediately. I owned an Alesis Micron and it had octave ranges vs. transpose which i am guessing is the difference.

How can i play in different octaves in the same patch? When i am playing back and recording a sequence, say i want to play the low part of the patch and then transpose the part up to play the upper range. When i transpose, the lower notes get shifted.

Do i have to do a multi program / patch to play upper and lower notes?

If anyone can clarify how transpose works, that would be helpful. It seems weird that if you hit transpose it shifts all the parts in a multi patch. Any help is appreciated!

thanks.
