Newbie to the board. I've had a TI for a year now, but it's been busy sitting on top of a Hammond B3 and clavinet, with a MicroKorg velcro'd to it for my live gigs. I was a member of Men Without Hats (Safety Dance) in the 80's, and a laptop DJ since the dark ages, so I know my way around computer music pretty well.:)

Alas, the live gigs have meant all my computer stuff just got dusted off this week, and the poor Virus had never had a USB cable in it till last night!

I don't think my install went too well. Cubase SX3 says it can't find the Virus plugin. Maybe I should pay attention to instructions....

I downloaded all the new software from Access. A question.... should I just reinstall over the Virus Control software again, or should I uninstall everything first? I'm so psyched to get recording again!!

PS: are there any other synths that work like the TI, with a VSTi and the processing power handed off to the hardware synth? I feel so out of touch. Is Fairlight still in business?

If there is a prob with the initial install then its probably best to uninstall first.

Someone else may be able to give good response to your PS.

Thanks,

I'll try a complete uninstall.

First off, Monster, I want to say that "Safety Dance" was one of my anthems in the 80s. I'm proud to see you here. Thank you for your work.

To answer your question, yes perform a complete uninstall and make sure you have the latest version of the TIOS 2.02, also make sure to update the TI's firmware.

It might take you a few tries to get the drivers and settings in order, but it's pretty straight forward in the audio/midi setups.

Lastly, Fairlight is still in business. They do pro audio production now. Out of the cutting-edge sampling/music production business.
