Hi,

I just bought a Desktop TI off ebay & it doesn't have the factory power cable or adaptor with it. I want to know whether it is possible to use any ac adaptor for it or if i would need a special cable or adaptor.

In the pics it seems like any normal dc adaptor would do. So i'm wondering if any Desktop TI owners here can help me out with this.

Should i get one of those regular adaptors that you have several attachements for that can be changed easily? Also i'm in switzerland & bought the TI from the U.S.A. Will there be any voltage issues or does this depend on the adaptor used?

Thanks for the help!

the virus manual is very specific because it says it ships difference power adapaters throughout the world. my power adapater was broken when it shipped from me, but i just ordered a new one through the local store here and it only took a week.

according to my power adapater it's simply a 12v DC adapater but do you really want to risk frying it?

As long as you make sure that the power adapter used is meant for your countrys power outlets and it puts out the voltage and minimum the power that the TI needs (or you will fry the adapter). The C must have 12V DC, 500mA; maybe higher power on the TI; look on the back of the unit. Also (very important) check if the power adaptor outputs balanced or un-balanced DC. Maybe it will work with both but to be sure, use balanced DC or you may harm your Virus...
