Anyone else that would like to see this feature added? I like the integration as a VST type editor but, I'd also like a standalone mode for editing. Seems it would be quite usefull.

Just curious what others think.

Yes - definately would like it to work as a standalone editor like the radias editor does. but... ONLY if the midi ports can stay active at the same time, else it would be pretty useless...

research savihost, it will let you open it to mess around

High latency, dodgy tempo clock, and the midi ports cant be used while VC is active.

Better off loading VC up in a proper DAW.

I think there is a setting that will let you use it elsewhere but as a standalone patch editor and browser it's ok

I agree! I'd love a stand alone editor. I like have all most all my features right in front of me, and not having to sort though menus inside my OS. I'd also like to see Pro Tools RTAS compatibility. Either way, the Virus is still Godly.

I spoke with one of the guys at Access the other week and they have no plans for this.

The integration is a good idea but, not being limited to using it soley inside a sequencer would be great also, if not a better selling point. Other companies offer it so why not Access? I don't like the way the USB totally takes over the midi side and you end up with latency. Why not be able to dedicate the editor control via USB only and still have the midi side live?

I've got a couple of other pieces of equipment like the Akai Z8 & Creamware Noah EX and both use USB for their dedicated editors and also audio as an option on the Noah but, you still have the Midi side available. I have these linked up to a seperate computer alongside my main sequencer computer which for me works well. Obviously not for everyone but, having it standalone on the same machine surely would be a good point.

I think it's a missed opportunity to be honest and I'm disappointed that it's not even an available option or one that might be in the future.

Theres quite a few people asking for a half way house on the integration side + stand alone support like Korg etc, and USB midi behaviour like Korg and Novation...

Keep bugging them about it if thats the kind of setup you want - I definately do! :)

How do I bug them about it? I'd glad to bug.

You can contact via the Access website. I spoke with Joerg Huettner, maybe directing this at one person they might just take a hint haha

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this needs addressing.

Might have to badger Joerg as well :D

How about using something like a simple VST host; think TobyBear has one, just to have it running?
