I must remember
"always google first, ask later"!
from faq.access-music.de -----
With the Virus TI unplugged, hold down the "Arp Edit" button, located under the "Master Volume" knob, and plugin the Virus TI. You will see two LEDs (BPM and Logo LED) start flashing back and fourth - this indicates it is ok to now let go of the "Arp Edit" button and let the TI boot. All factory parameters * will return to their original settings.
Alternately, if your TI is off via the "Sleep" fuction (both transpose buttons) - simply hold down the "Arp Edit" button, located under the "Master Volume" knob and the TI will reset.
*note - this does not include factory sounds or banks.

out of curiosity... what kinda issues?
and im guessing the reset fixed the problem...? :)

kind of a weird sporadic issue where the patch that I am playing starts to distort and plays very distinct audio artifacts. Once this starts all patches display the issue.
going to reset it tonight (and possibly reapply 2.05) and will let you know how it works out.
Besides this issue, my Ti really has been working flawlessly (and I have had it for about 1.5 years now)

hmm. so far not so good.
reinitialized the TI, but the same "sizzling bacon" type sound persists.
Time to turn it over to Access and see how they respond.

ok, haven't resolved it yet, but just wanted to commend Access on their quick response for support. I called the hotline and someone called me back within the hour. I had also emailed their main support and got a response within two hours from them. So - great support.
still working on the issue and will update when I have the results.

I have a problem with one of my patches fading in and out and I also hear strange audio artifacts as if I have an open line with a little reverb...
Let me know what you came up with doc!
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
hmm, your issue sounds a little different than mine. Right now my TI is pretty stable, but am not sure which of these actions stabilized it - uninstalled drivers and reinstalled, including firmware update. Changed usb plug, changed usb port and removed all other devices from the other usb ports.
At some point, things stabilized. Just wish I knew which one of the above did it!

by the way, Access's support is top notch.
if the problem persisted, they were going to replace my TI without delay!

Hi Doc,
when you say "note - this does not include factory sounds or banks." does that mean a factory reset will not wipe all my stored sounds?
I'm getting impatient as my multi mode is not working. when I press multi it changes the patch i'm on to Init. Does this sound like something a reset could cure?
Thanks, Ben.

Hi Ben, honestly i don't recall if it resets everything back to factory defaults. I would say any patches that you have that are different than the factory settings should be backed up to your hard drive (just to be safe).
Once you have all of your sounds backed up, I would say definitely go ahead an reset your ti. The issue you are having is an interesting one. Resetting may not resolve it, but after you do reset it, you will be at least one step closer to solving it.

I have solved the problem!!
It turns out that when the top casing was put back on the synth the buttons on the modulator section had been jammed under it, meaning the casing wasn't on securely. After prying them out, the casing snapped down snugly and the multi button works again!
Thanks for your reply :) I'm glad a reset wasn't necessary!
Ben.

It is good to know those steps and thank you for your posts. I know it was a long time ago. :P
