You can route audio input into the Virus and maul it with the filters and what not, but you cannot import a sample and make it a preset as you could with a sampler. BTW, what Virus are you using? I think the input options are in the C-bank of the Virus C. Someon please correct me if I am wrong.

Good luck!

is it new patches you're looking for?

I think you are looking for patches as bishopkris40 mentioned.

If you don´t already have the Virus manual, download it in PDF format from the access site:

http://www.access-music.de/support.php4

(Choose the type of Virus you own, and then scroll down in the list to find the manual)

Now, check page 118 in the manual. "MIDI DUMP RX"

In Cubase for example, import a midifile with the patchbank you want to send to the Virus. Now make the settings in the Virus menu that is described in the manual. Now, push play in Cubase. If you did everything correctly, the Virus records the patchbank and you should see a note blink on the screen of your Virus!

Also, check pages 158-160, i think you will get some important info here!

You can find many patchbanks at access site to download.

For samples/audio inputs - check page 53 in the manual.

Ok, check page 38-39 also. These pages explains the program Sounddiver in short, wich is a soundeditor and sound library. With this program you can manage sounds in the different banks, and it also let´s you control all parameters of every patches/sounds. Personally I´ve just got Sounddiver to work on my computer so im not very familiar with it yet. Many people seem to have problems with it, so Im not advising you to use it, just giving you the info about it.
