So the last O.S. update Access put out was version 6.5 for the C series.

Does anyone now if they have plans to ever update it again?

I've heard nothing to this effect. It would be nice to have the hypersaw...
How long after the C series came out did Access stop updating the B series OS? Maybe the "4-pole/Moog filters" are the final gift from the manufacturer?

I hope not but I guess they have to stop somewhere.

The hypersaw would be cool. May'be it could be like an additional spectral wave shape or something. That would be nice.

I don´t think Access will use to much time and money on discontinued products. They proberbly hope that we will all dump our A, B and C´s and buy a Virus TI or Snow some day. Anyway i think they have used the memory of the C series to max. so they would have to delete features to throw new features in. Anyway there havn´t been a new OS for the C series for a couple of years now so i guess that OS 6.5 is the last OS for the C series. Sad but i understand that Access has to keep moving and anyway: OS 6.5 is a good OS :D

You are right Onkel, OS 6.5 is a good one, no bitching here.

It would be cool if some renegade synth programmers coded a new OS for the A/B/C series to make it do new/unusual things. For instance, the Linksys wireless routers have had renegade freeware firmware upgrades written for them that greatly enhance their functionality, why not Access synths?

:)

They do??? Do you have a link? I have a Linksys Wireless Router and sometimes it fucks up and gives the same IP address to both me and my wifes computer and sometimes everything seems like it´s working but then i have to turn it off and on again to access the internet. Pisses me of when it does that...

Back to the topic: It would be great if someone would make an alternative OS so that you could choose an OS 6.5a with vocoder or an OS 6.5b with wavetables :D The vocoder sucks anyway...

That should be doable, I mean, there are programs out there that let you hack the Ensoniq ESQ-1, letting you change up the navigational features, etc. I wonder if anybody has ever tried to modify O.S. 6.5 before?

I agree with you, the vocoder sucks!
