Hello;

i've had my Virus Ti desktop for 2 months ..

I DO NOT use any type of DAW or computor based recording gear ..!!

i use a few ADATs ... yeh , i'm an old fart ..!!

i only use my laptop in my studio for programing/archiving patches for things like my .... TC helicon, M3 , radias , Tonelab , etc ....

So my question is ...

What is the simplest , cheapest way for me to get into the Virus Control software to program, load sounds, etc ... on my Ti ...?????

i have a laptop , Windows Xp ...

i have managed to get my other gear up and running .... but i have Never done anything with any VST ...?? i would prefer a standalone editor .. !!?

i would just want to take laptop into studio , hook up Ti , and click on the editor and go ..!!

any help with a step by step , very simple solution would be very greatly appreciated ..!!!!!!!!! i do like the Virus ... but ...

thanks ..!!! Sincerely; DavC tampa,fl

Any DAW software that supports VST or AU plug-ins should work fine. There's probably even free ones online somewhere, but maybe you can use a demo version to simply load/backup patches. Once you find one, just install the DAW, install your Virus Control software, then boot up the DAW and load the Virus Control plug-in.

I've only had my TI for a little over 48 hours and I have mixed feelings about Virus Control. I like software editors and the VC is great in terms of the interface, but the fact you are locked into using the USB for audio and everything kind of sucks (latency). If you want to use the MIDI ports for sequencing and analog outputs for the audio, you can't use Virus Control through MIDI (or USB). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong there.

A stand-alone MIDI editor like what the Evolver has would be nice. The Lexicon MX series and the Blofeld can't send audio through USB, but they send MIDI. Why couldn't the Virus do that?

Also, is there a latency correction feature? I thought I read somewhere it did that. Does that only work when tracking?
