Hey all
The Gathering (a LAN party held in the Vikingship in Norway) is just over, and I made two tracks, one for the hiQ music compo and one for a Combined Demo. (We came 2. with the demo btw). I also made a chip-ish tune for another demo (which a girl single-handedly coded, how cool is that?).
Both of the dnb tracks were wrapped up in a hurry towards deadlines, so they will be worked further on for improvements. Especially "Mercury" which is about one days work.

This might be of interest to the guy (Can't remember your name right now :) ) who wondered about those basses. I've found that resampling definitely is key when doing this.. Even though I'm fairly new to doing this kind of music. In some cases you might be able to get away with one patch off the virus, but in both of these tracks, the basses ended up being like 7th or 8th generation resampled basses. I started out with 3 detuned saws for the one in Sensory Deprivation, and the basses in Mercury are a combination of the ARP bass and a similiar starting point from the Virus. (Detuned unison saws, some with the oscs maybe tuned like 0 +7 +12).
I almost found that the more I resampled and crunched them, the fatter they got!
Hope you like.
Oh and if you want to see the demos you can go to: ftp.gathering.org -> TG -> 2008 -> CombinedDemo.
For some reason Mercury (By Nazareth Creations) is not there yet, but I'm sure it will be later. Bitamins is there though!
Best,
Alex
