Using Cubase 4.1.3 and previous versions with the Virus TI Desktop OS 2.5.1 , I noticed with certain projects, the patch does not get saved,

the basic sound is the same but certain parameters are off for eg the fliter cutoff or resonance is not where its supposed to be,

is this a virus problem or a Cubase problem? because I know cubase is supposed to save the settings in some file with the project

I guess one way is to always save your patches on the virus?

which patches aren't being saved correctly? i can open them up in Live, tweak a bit, save and then see if the parameters remain after reopening in live.

when i save the project in cubase, cubase saves the settings of the VSTi (Virus Control) so the patches do not have to be stored, but some times certain sounds are not the same ie. the cutoff and resonance are different amounts

maybe it doesn't save the softknobs?

If you load a patch, tweak it and then store the multi patch the tweaks are not stored. This is because the multi patch only saves the locations of the patches instead of the patches. This means that if you make tweaks to the patches in multi mode you'll have to save the tweaked single patches too, not just the multi.

It's easiest to make an edit buffer dump in the beginning of the song so you don't have to mess around with the single/multi patch mess. The edit buffer dump stores the whole multi and the patches from the temporary memory and also loads them to the temp memory which means when you load an edit buffer dump nothing is stored to the Virus permanent memory.
