Hello forum,
I'm having some trouble setting up Atomizer with my Access Virus Snow and ableton Live on my macbook.
Basically, any kind of tutorial or step by step would be very well appreacited.
I'm a total noob with Access products but not with Ableton... I've been using Live since version 1.5 albiet not as much as I'd like.
If I understand correctly, I need to have an external soundcard to route the audio from the Snows outs into the soundcards ins and then back out of the soundcards outs into the Snows in correct? The Snow cannot be used as a soundcard on its own and still use Atomizer, right?
What do the settings inside of Live need to be at? All I'm trying to do is take a wav file from itunes and play it in Live to manipulate.
Thanks for your help! I owe you one in advance.

well ... to set this up ... you need two analog outputs:
1) for the raw audio signal -> Virus Inputs
2) for the atomized audio signal -> Mixer / Amplifier / Monitors
and ... if you don't have two outputs:
just burn the wave to cd and connect a cdj / cd-player to the analog inputs of the Virus.
most quick and dirty solution ;)
PS: check out the Atomizer Manual.pdf

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have to atomizer pdf sitting here in front of me yet there is no step by step instructions on how to set this up. There is a brief mention of how to enable Atomizer (which I ahve already figured out) however I was looking for a physical plug this here, plug this there method.
So basically,
I can run two 1/4 cables from the Snows Outs into the ins of my Mackie Onyx Satellite and then run two 1/4 cables from the outs of my Mackie into the ins of the Snow currect?
Also, I like your "dirty" suggestion about running an external signal (cd player) into the ins of the Virus. What would I need to slect in Ableton Live to have the Virus recognize this?
Sorry, but I can't seem to wrap my head around Atomizer. I haven't had this much trouble since setting up my frirst sound card many years ago on a PC.

to atomize a signal from cd you only need load an atomizer patch.
well ... and maybe a midi keyboard for playing it could be usefull.
got (almost) no clue of ableton, so i only can tell how it basically works:
MIDI-Keyboard -> Ableton -> USB -> Virus <- Inputs <- CD Player

Thanks, I actually checked it out last night (I simply used an ipod with an 1/8" jack out to two rcas (which I adapted to dual 1/4) and ran that through the ins of the Snow, and selected the Atomizer patches under Virus Control. Pretty ok. I think I made the mistake of playing stuff that already sounded "atomized" Akufen, Luomo to name names. In the future, (with my soon to be here Mackie Onyx Satellite) it would be really cool to be able to route the audio to one seperate track, a vocal only track and only atomize that one particular track.
Using Atomizer over an entire existing song just kind of ruined it for me and after about 5 minutes... I was... gasp... kinda bored.

check out which output is selected for the patch that you edit.
... probably the signal being sent via USB audio channel and not analog out.
