I am looking into these, please give me any feedback towards this purchasing decision...

I currently squeeze everything else out of my Virus TI , Novation Nova, Circle VST, Battery, Lexicon 300 Series Reverb....

My style is psychedelic progressive.

DSI Evolver
DSI Polyevolver
Prophet '08
Studio Electronics SE - 1x
Moog Little Fatty
Maybe a Juno 106, and something else less expensive

Moog Voyager, Korg MS-20 and SH101 are very common in psy production.

well ... Prophet '08 would be the one i'd get for myself :)

if you want the Juno sound then go for the 60 ... if you want some real anlog sounding synth ;)

What about the Alesis Andromeda? I tried one out years ago and didn't like the feel of it. I've heard many good things about it. Anyone tried one out lately?

I've read a few bad reviews on the Prophet '08... I need to play one myself I think.

So now I'm trying to decide between.....

DSI MoPho and DSI Evolver , both desktop

or

DSI Prophet '08

This is killin me. I like the possibilities of the desktop Evolver's digital/analog osc design and circuitry, although the pure analog and polyphony of the Prophet '08 seems enticing.

To me, the DSI stuff sounds fairly close to the Virus (obviously not all sounds or all modes, but close enough to be considered overlapping).

I had a P08 for a while and it was too sterile compared to the older real analogs I have. If you're looking for that thick old analog sound, follow another poster's advice and look for a Juno 60, or even a Juno 6, or (fully working) 106.

If you have the chance to audition any of the DSI stuff, do it before commiting to buy.

I just came back from "Mandolin" Center and tested out the Prophet '08. It is not the thick sound I'm after at all. I need the Juno sound now, I am sure of it.

Thanks Guys. I think I am still going to demo the evolver keyboard before I decide. Now when I test the Evolver I am going to be listening for the overlapping. Thanks brother from another mother!!!
