Hey, i decided today to try and use the onboard fx, i have now been fiddling for an hour and no luck. how did u guys go about doing it?

oh i didn't know you could do it over usb i was using cable from the output of my sound card to another input to my sound card and when i put samples through the output i get no input none atall, would usb be easyer?
Ah, right, I get you, you want to use the audio inputs of the Virus.
On my older Indigo I press the 'Effects' button then scroll to the far left of the menu, until I see the following options:-
For "Input: Mode" I use 'To Effects' as the parameter, unless you want to route it through the Virus' filters too in which case you'd use 'Static' (for sustained effects usage) or 'Dynamic' for midi-gated usage (using the Virus' keyboard to gate the incoming signal).
For "Input: Select" I use 'In L+R'.
And then place jacks from the external sound source into the audio inputs.
And that's it!
Should be something similar to your TI, I hope.
