I have a TI Polar. I almost got the full keyboard instead, but I wanted something that could sit in front of my monitor and be a main controller/computer controller. The three-octave design is great - not too big, not too small.

Dont worry guys about the TI, you have a powerful top on the line synthesizer solid German tank with top technology and extremely clear sound, if is discontinued this beautiful instrument still useful for play and music composition even create you very own patches and instruments, the TI is the first generation of full integrated synthesizers of Access and have one space on the hall of the fame.

I'm still finding new stuff on my Indigo, which was released in 2000/2001. Constantly surprises me, and the quality of the sounds match anything out there.

I am SO SICK OF MY VIRUS!!!! I can't wait to throw it in the garbage.

As soon as I got it, I made 10000000000000 sounds and made every song possibly song you could imagine and released 7000000 albums full of the freshest imagination on the block. I then bought 10 TIs and thought, now maybe I can make some decent music. But alas, I needed more.

I bought stock in access and rolled around in over 50 TIs... then I was happy... for a week.

All in all... I think I will more than happy with my "obsolete" TI for a while.

BTW.... My Jupiter 8 is totally obsolete too. I tried to plug in the USB cable to it yesterday and my cat looked at me like I was crazzzy.

Love you assholes.

I picked up a copy of "The Dark Knight" special edition on Blu-Ray tonight, and as I was watching the special features they were showing Hans Zimmer in his studio recording the Joker theme for the movie soundtrack.

At one point they cut to a scene of him working with a cellist, and low and behold, you see the back panel of a Virus TI Polar in the background! So, I'm putting in a shout-out for Hans Zimmer - he has a Virus TI Polar. :)

This is going to be a bit of a story, but here it goes...

I'm 20 years old and have tried to compose music since I was 15 or so. One day, I too, was looking for a VST or THE synth that made that fantastic "trancelead" sound (now known as the Supersaw), even though it may be "old" I am still in love with it :P Of course I ventured into the depths of the Internet and I soon found out that the Roland JP-8000 ultimately was the synth I should be looking for, but no one was willing to sell that one at the time. I continued my search for alternatives and ended up with the fact that I really wanted the real deal, no VST lookalikes, just a normal hardware synthesizer that I could program my own sounds with. I began looking for a used Virus C, but I soon realized it still was a little too pricey for my economy back then.

My first synth ever got to be a secondhand Virus A about 2 years ago, I loved it then and I still am in love with it while I use it especially for basses.

One more year flew past me while learning the synth and having great fun with it, and during that time I found myself getting hooked on shopping synths, preferable any Viruses to be precise... I had that year managed to purchase (all secondhandly of course): The Virus PoCo with multiple DSPs license, Virus C (Indigo 2) and incredibly enough, a JP-8000! It really is great fun to hook up all the synths either by layering them and jamming or just using them to a point where they complement eachother really nice in a sequenced kind of project.

Utimately, I realized I may have been was a bit old-fashioned regarding my synth choices and began to look at the TI, which was and still is very expensive! Then the Virus TI Snow came along at half the price tag, carrying with it... the Hypersaw... Damn, I thought, I'm living with my parents and I'm earning quite a bit anyway. Why not, it's just a small box that makes interesting sounds and could be hooked up to the computer to make interestings sounds even faster for around 900€, right? :D

So now I sit here with a Virus TI Snow (OS 3.0beta) and all the other synths I previously bought. I have to say that the Virus series is definitely unique synths. I mean, there are tons of features (still counting!), but it's still managable to program once you've got to know them (even the Snow, which basically is to be programmed through the menus!). The TI concept really makes sound designing a breeze, I even took backups of the older Viruses and easily saved them on my computer via the MIDI interface of the TI Snow. I'm still amazed of having the backwards compatibility that the newer Viruses offers while simply improving my old patches!

Again, I'm only 20 years old so my experience with other synths is not that influenced yet. As I try to see the strenghts in every single one of them, I don't have the heart (or the need) to sell them just yet so therefore I am the proud owner of these:

- Virus A
- Virus PowerCore
- Virus C (Indigo 2)
- Virus TI Snow
(- Roland JP-8000) <-- As it was the main reason for why I began looking for the Access Virus I think it deserves to be mentioned in the list. My main initiative was to make/clone/emulate known sounds, but after I got to know the synths better by each day, amazing inspirations arised to make my own styled sounds... Layering either synth together really is a rewarding technique.

Too long? I'm sorry about that, I just felt I needed to express my feelings for these beasts, which definitely works for more than just trance sounds :P

I have a Virus Classic (the little red sports synth) which is on holiday at a friends studio. I sold my Virus A to get that, they were used on all my D'n'B.

I use Virus Powercore, Virus C, and Virus TI on the Desktop.

I never got a Keyboard version as I've never found anything with better feel and response than my Korg Z1 and DX7 Mk2. I guess I'm just used to them.

Nice sound but I must admit I also like my Creamware more ...
Ok it is just the riginal model.
What I really like is the ease of use. I do not have any printed manual but I could really play with the unit after a few minutes. I only looked for the mean of changing the single MIDI channel. Apart from this everything seems just obvious.
I would have loved something as user friendly as this one from the Creamware team. My old CreamWare Noah is not as easy to edit and I needed to remote control it from a BCR 2000 companion controller.

Compared to over synth I have/tried the Virus is for me in the same class as the Soundart Chameleon Australis skin, The novation KS or some of the clavia synths (though I prefer the Modular range from them).

Virus KB infected me firstly a year ago post-military medical disability and this week became inflicted with a deeper infection and added the Virus KC to my arsenal. I am hoping one morning will awake and the two of them will have spawned a brand new baby "Virus D" hanging from a midi cable! In the course of natural evolution, it would seem logical the use of the letter "D" would appear alongside her Ti giants...ahem.... hint, hint!

I wanted to add that adding the Virus KC was done with considerable critical thinking. Having already Virus KB, Waldorf: Blofeld Black keyboard, XT and MicroQ Omega racks, Novation Supernova 1, Korg Wavestation SR and Radias, Alesis: Ion, Fusion (for all the Hollow Sun sample banks), Micron, Roland SH32, Yamaha RM1X, and CSX2, DSI Evolver Desktop.
Had an opportunity to get an expanded Waldorf Q but invested on dedicated DAW desktop pc custom build for sound and video work instead. Plus, felt the Blofeld and Micro Q Omega (75 voice expansion) covered what I would gain with the Q; however, nothing hardware-wise has the Microwave XT crazy capabilities, so in my opinion the Virus KC offered enough differences in sound from the Virus KB for the atmospheric/ambient tracks working on. Sure, there's some overlap, but find the Virus KB to have a distinctly more aggressive sound but also alot of "analog-like" warmth, whereas the KC I find it to have save from better adjective, "coldness" in character, not to mention either Virus can be utilized at times to run other things through effects and filters.
Yes, once my confidence and knowledge of each instrument's interface is totally intuitive as to focus on experimental tracks, a soundcloud account WILL be set-up to share what is done from a post-military PTSD view-point! I have learned SO much in reading within this and a few other great forums and it's interesting how on other forums, the seemingly Virus-haters will have threads that go onward through years in arguments of why software easily does anything any Virus can...it's just history repeating itslef because remember when the angst was just as present between real analog and VA's or even differences between VCO and DCO's?
Just thought I'd explain how and why I added the second Virus.

Hi
Hello friends
I have a Kc and Kb
regards from Chile

Welcome! Glad to see another whom has both KC AND KB Virus! I am using the KC as a proper synth but for now am using the KB as an excellent controller for some synths in my rack while using the external in to process effects. The Key-action is excellent on both synths with the aftertouch incredibly responsive! love those filters on the KC and more immediate access to the ARP without having to dig through bunch of menus as on the KB.

how do you compare the sound between the two? Never got to use the powercore. It was discontinued recently, right? Enjoy the ride with the new thing with knobs on it ;)

Just picked up the full size Virus TI keyboard from Guitar Center the other day for $1700. Was still on OS 4.0 took a minute to update and had to hard reset it so that the midi keys would correlate to Ableton properly but I'm in love. I feel bad for disappearing with these two chicks for two days and not giving her any real loving.

Hi everybody.

I just picked up a Classic Rack unit off eBay and found this community. Wanted a box that could do polyphonic hard-sync and only had one space left in my rack. :) The chorus/delay sounds like a nice bonus.

Used to own a couple Memorymoogs back in the day and I miss the analog patch building paradigm. Looking forward to hearing this synth.

Your cat was right, you are crazy. Totally fruit loop and probably talentless.
