View Full Version : Sync problem with midi compared to other plugins

Hi I have had this same problem since I bought my virus.
When I play a simple loop in fruity loops with a kick, say BPM 135, and with a virus lead midi on that.
This is when I get this problem, the midi seems not to be in sync to the rest of the loop. Often it helps to move the midi so it fits the rest of the loop, but do I have to do this every time?

If I play a random vst synth with a simple melo it fits the loop, but if I take the same midi and play it from my virus it goes out of sync. Even if I move the midi it sometimes sounds a bit strange. But its just the virus who do this "out of sync thing", and not any other plugin that I use. So it must be something I've missed about this.

I plugged in my virus with the USB.
Maybe its a simple answer to this but I'm still a noob so ;)

I wish there was a simple answer. You can cry now...

Mine goes out of sync often. While using it via midi, I have MUCH less sync problems. Using Virus Control, which most people swear by, it is much less reliable. Use it as a synth, and it will be the your favorite. Use it as a plugin and you'll be swinging like a pendulm. It's much more solid now, but I still preferr to use it as a midi synth due to timing issues with VirusControl/USB.

The Virus is a strange and wonderful beast.

I need som help setting up the midi device.
Now I've done like this:

1. MIDI IN from Virus to MIDI OUT port on my tascam soundcard (routed with a USB cable to my computer).
2. MIDI OUT to MIDI IN.
3. The standard USB cable from virus to the computer. Wrong or right?
4. In FL, following settings.

MIDI output
Microsoft MIDI Mapper

Input
2- Virus TI MIDI - Active

AUDIO
Virus USB ASIO driver
System perfomance - Fast
Clock source Hardware.
Prio - Highest

In the Mixer:

IN- Virus TI - IN 1 Virus TI stereo

Is this setup right?
If I unplugged the USB from my Virus, FL cant find the MIDI input in settings and I lost contact between fruity loops and Virus TI Control.
My goal is to use it as a synth like Monobeat said. But I've a feeling that this is a wrong setup? But if I select the Virus in the mixer the problem with the delay and sync disappear, so its a good start. :)

why don't you follow the tutorial which explains how you SHOULD set FL Studio and the Virus it up?
