Hello, I joined awhile ago but never bothered to post an intro.

I bought a TI kb earlier last year to fill out my new studio after my last studio was dismembered. I'm not much of a keyboard player or sound designer but I hope to remedy this. I'm still learning.

I usually find myself tweaking presets or programming plain boring "worse than preset" sounds. I like to make usable sounds, but my sounds aren't very spectacular at least not on the Virus... I've made some sweet FM sounds on an Alesis Ion which I am very familiar with.

Weak Modulation = Weak Sound

Modulation is my weakpoint right now, but I guess I need to spend more time experimenting.

Cheers-

Hallo ! :> Welcome, etc.. :>

When it comes to modulation, I normally find subtlety works best. Try using a couple of different, subtle, modulation techniques in combination. Also don't forget about the Sustain Slope on your filter envelope ! Wonderful things can be accomplished with so many different slopes..
