Hello guys.
I did update to os 3.0, and then the Virus controller starts up really slow.
It takes about 1min to 2min before it is ready to use.
I own a Access Virus TI keyboard and I use it with Cubase 3.
It happens everytime when I load the controller.
I did try to reinstall the drivers and update the firmware again. But this did not help. Just in case, I did unplug the power from the virus. This did not help eather. (Yes, I did put it back in. :p).
Perhaps it is a bug with the beta, I dunno.
Anyone else have this problem, and hopefully did find a solution?
Thank you for your time. :-)

Same problem here, I'm currently in contact with Joerg from Customer Support, and got some things to try out like reinstallation etc but so far nothing has done the magic. I'm using Ableton and Powerbook G4 and it takes about 4 to 5 minutes for VC to load. I'm going to try it on a different computer as recommended by Joerg to see if the Powerbook has issues.

Try all of the other USB ports on the computer.

YES! At me too problems with OS 3. It is impossible to work! When I change presets in VC, I Ti Snow freezes) and it is necessary to reboot Cubase SX3. I too hope that soon it will correct!

Well I tried on my Pentium 4 pc and the VC and TI working fine, so the problem is within my Powerbook G4. I will try to uninstall and will try to
reinstall again and let you guys know the result.

I hope it will work for you. I am using a PC. Windows XP. And a uninstall and reinstall did not work for me. I wish you good luck. Hope it will work on your powerbook. :-)

I did update my virus to 3.0.1. But this was not fixed. It is still slow on start up.

I had exactly the same problem after updating to 3.0, and was seriously pulling teeth and hair cause I FUGGIN HATE looking and waiting for a computer to think about shit that should otherwise and NORMALLY take mere seconds.
I GOT MORE RAM
PROBLEM SOLVED
DUNNO WHY ACCESS CANT SEE THIS BEFORE REALEASING BETA???
the new gui looks real good........AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR RAM!!!
I let Joerg know of this issue and that putting in new ram fixed the problem.
If you logged the fault with access i dont know why Joerg hasnt let you know..............................or posted here at least
p.s ) add up all the time you sit at your pc waiting for virus to load everyday.................its good for the soul;) :-x

If I could add more RAM, I would. :P But there is all ready 4GB of RAM installed. Anyways.. Windows XP SP2 does not support more than 3.5MB or RAM. At least not with my mobo.
I hope this problem get solved soon. Cause I am allmost avoiding using my TI cause of it. :P
I whine a lot in the forum. So I will add that I love my Access Virus TI. And that the upgrades are great. I do expect there to be some problems.
Thanks for a great job to all of you.
Also thanks to the people in the forum that are helping. :)
if virus control takes a long while to boot up, it has nothing to do with the RAM (as long as you don't take it to total extremes). virus control doesn't take longer to boot up, the graphics don't use more RAM. you might want to get in touch with access support to troubleshoot your system.

usually such problems are based on defect RAM (so I guess you fixed it be exchanging it). experince from on of my previous lifes as a "pc guy"

Then I have been in contact with Access Music (Joerg Huettner) about this problem. He will check with their R&D department. Hopefully they will figure out a fix for this as well.
I may buy Cubase 4 and check if I get the same problem there. It is time for an update anyway.
I will keep you updated as soon I get an answeer from Access Music.

Still not working on the Power book G4, still have to wait like 4-5minutes for VC to load. Don't know what to do. Tried everything Access support has suggested.

I've tried to fix this problem this way: I installed a new OS on my computer (the "slow-at-startup" problem was on WinXP SP3, new installed OS was Vista). There was everything ok and no problems... I thought I fix the problem, but... 4 days pass and I've got absolutely the same problem: virus control needs about 2 - 3 (sometimes more!) minutes to start!
When I run Virus Control Center it is loading very fast and I see my Virus in the list, but when I press "OK" and "Talking to virus..." menu appears, status line of that menu is not filling up, so, as when I'm loading Virus TI Snow VSTi in Cubase, I need to wait 2 - 3 minutes until it will finish that "Talking to virus" and I can update OS or burn patches to flashrom etc.
when Virus VSTi crushes in Cubase (and I get the error message) and I save my project, exit from Cubase and start it again, loading saved project I can not use Virus VSTi, because I see virus vsti in my vst rack (in Cubase), but when trying to view its (virus control vsti) window, it does not show me any information, its just "empty" window.
I've made the screenshot of that window, you can download it here: http://www.haloedghost.com/pics/20090413-Access_Support/virus_control_unuseble.JPG
Here is a part of my Cubase.log file (I think it is not reasonable to upload full version of my cubase log, because virus crashes too often and now it's more than 50 MB...): http://www.haloedghost.com/pics/20090413-Access_Support/cubaselog.txt
I have contacted access support, but at this moment they don't know how to fix it. :?
I think my RAM can not be "defected", because I haven't ANY problems with another hardware and software.
I've installed NOTHING and plugged NOTHING until I've got this problem on new OS.
Can anybody help me?

I've got exacly the same problem, only my Ti GUI dissapears after working for about 20 mins or so... and this happens EVERY TIME, at which point I need to restart cubase 5 and the Ti and it works again... for another 20 mins :?

Thats not so bad... For me this screen means I can not use virus in this project anymore, because when I restart Cubase and load saved project, I've got the same unuseble screen of VC.

This happened to me also, but only in a few projects which always screw up the GUI. Usually with older SX3 projects opened in Cubase 5.
Most of the time, though, a cubase restart, unplugging the ti (software power off never works), or even a reboot fixes the problem... if only temporary.

I moved patches stored in Access-Music\Virus TI\Patches in “My Documents” folder and that was fixed "slowed at startup" problem.

Engel got the solution.
remove copies of patches and remove the patches you do not use that often to another folder. This will make the VC start faster. :)
