Hi people, I'm pretty a newbie in here and I tried few minutes ago to search for my problem through the SEARCH function but, no results were displayed, even if I tried with several combinations of words..

so I'm heading you with my problem:

I own a Virus TI keyboard and using Cubase 4 as sequencer.

The problems is simply this: I can't open 2 sound device of my Virus since, of course I have established only the USB link from the Keyboard to my pc.

I'm also a newbie in making music so I maybe don't know such basically or easier way to solve this problem. Someone told me about freezing the device I opened but Cubase says that "Freezing is not available" for Virus TI.

I know I can open more and more sound into the inner Vst ('till 16 patches, isn't it? ),burt how do I let them sound??
Assigning each sound device to an own BUS of the Virus was my solution, but then when I "play" the song into the Sequencer it always sounds ONE bus. (it's a lil bit difficult to explain to you the problem, hope u could get it as well)

Splat!

You can't open two instances of Virus Control. The 16 parts are assigned to MIDI channels 1 to 16. So you will have to open new MIDI tracks and assign them to each channel for them to sound.

Hi there,thanks 4 the info.

I'just just grab the OS 3 version of TI and I'm looking now at the general layout aspect.

First strange thing: NOW If I open twice the Virus TI into Cubase, it opens!!

BUT now the problem is: it doesn't play. Even if I open only 1 device, it doesn't open. Do I have to click on somewhere or install something else in order to let the Keyboard work?
(PS. It doesn't get any signal when I press any key button of the Keyboard! No green light into the Vst controller):-?

you can only use one instance of the TI plug-in.

the TI has 3 stereo streams of audio coming from the device into cubase. I don't know about cubase, but you will need to assign your different parts to one of the 3 USB streams, then route the audio for that stream into the track that you want in the program... all from one plug-in.

16 parts? yes! 16 distinct audio streams? nope!

Yeah I got it, but now as I wrote above, I found a different problem, after having brought from Access music site the OS 3 patch!! :p

EDIT: Ehm,think it's only due to the fact that is a BETA version the os3, maybe that's the only reason why it doesn't work properly switching my Virus from 2.7.5 to the 3.0... I'll re-update the Synth with the 2.7.5. version now..

 I'm trying for hours to re-install the 2.7.5. version!!

I delete all the 3.0 features and re-installed the 2.7.5. ones, but I can't understand why it keeps displaying me into the screen of the keyboard the 3.0 version, even if I put the 2.7.5. dll files back into the pc!

Moreover..now my pc can't detect anymore the Virus usb link!!! :-?

So now: no Virus playing, no virus as "midi keyboard" playing" !!

Even if I'm pressing the ARP EDIT button for some seconds, it happens nothing. the display turns on as I don't press anymore that buttone, displaying the 3.0 OS version...

It's making me nervous!!!!! How can I switch the Keyboard back to the 2.7.5. version??????????

You need to hold exit and power on your Virus to go into OS Update mode. It's simple. Then open the updater, downgrade, and your good to go... It'll definetly let you do it.

I have already done all of this and have OS 2.7.5 on my virus and have the 2.7.5 VC control centre working, but no audio .. if i leave the vc open on the channel strip for bout 20 - 30 mins it will suddenly start to make a buzzing noise until i delete it from the logic channel strip .. other than that no sound at all .. but its showing sound in the VC volume strip !

Unplug the power supply from the Virus and plug it back in. That may help.

Do you have your computer set to sleep or spin down your HD in your energy saver prefs?

I've done it now. virus was power off and I hold the EXIT button and in the meanwhile pressing the Transpose on/off buttons.
What happens? Virus TI turns on with the same "WELCOME" on the dispaly and the 3.0 on the top-left side of the screen displayed. And then Virus displayes the default screen as I was used to see when I open in into cubase..

:confused::confused:

I have the Keyboard model, so I don't have the AC plug. So I should not consider this option in the possible solution... :(
