Hi all,
we are a growing unhappy customers of the virus powercore developped by TC electronic and access music. That's 5 years now issues still haven't been fixed,
so we started an online petition:

http://www.petitiononline.com/VIRUSTCP/petition.html

the virus never worked as advertised, it has lot of timings issues that make it unusable and they keep on selling it as if there was no pb. truely a shame.

If you're a Virus powercore user please help us by signing and share the link on audio forums.
access music bypass their responsability and we have no support answers.
some of us bought this more than 700 euros and it's sold as a virus B.
Access simply ignore us. insane.

bravo access, keep on, keep on, so we will have to make a law court action

why don't you just get a refund ?

I'd hand back my license for a refund, but can we really expect a refund on software 5 years down the line? We've asked, in public, if we could all be refunded, but didn't hear anything back. Also haven't heard from any individual saying they got refunded.

I foolishly hung onto the hope that the software would get fixed at some point.

Why didn't you return it when you first got it and it didn't work ?

I'm currently selling my Powercore Mk1 card because it doesn't work correctly in my new PC. It's shite really but that's life

Why didn't you return it

'cos I expected access to fix the bugs the same way they fixed similar bugs on their hardware synths. I had no reason to think they'd effectively abandon it.

access don't even dare answer any request we sent them,
tc don't want to give us a refund. this has to end in tribunal I guess. I truely hope we ll manage to bring them to justice, for their insane lack of respect of hundreds customers.

Just curious, what have you sent them and to where?

Just curious, what have you sent them and to where?

I've sent support requests, several times, to both companies. All ignored. Both companies (as a result of the petition) have eventually effectively admitted there are issues and told us back in October that Access were going to investigate and that there'd be feedback in a few weeks. 4 months later and no word.

Over the last few years, I've also had various private and public discussions with Marc (over on virusti.com), where I offered to help get to the bottom of some of the problems. He claimed he couldn't reproduce the problems I and hundreds of others are seeing, and he stopped talking to me.

There are several problems with the plug-in. Some have similar effects though the causes are different. Some down to hardware setup. Part of the problem is in eliminating the hardware issues so that we can concentrate on the real stability issues. It's also the case where all other plug-ins work on certain hardware, but Virus doesn't.

All this is covered over on the TC forum linked at the top of this thread.

The petition itself has a fairly comprehensive list of the problems:

http://www.petitiononline.com/VIRUSTCP/petition.html

:)

Edit: BTW - there's a thread over on the TC forum asking if anyone has a proper working setup. I think 2 people have said yes, posted their system details, but pointed out that they have sync problems. So, thus far, it seems that no-one has (what I'd call) a properly working system.

This is just a hope of sign... nothing else... anyway, Access pushes the TI as their flagship product.

After five years we may get a newer edition of a "kind-of-bugfixed-or-maybe-not-but-maybe-better-working-but-strictly-no-new-features" release of Virus Powercore... funny isn't it?

yeah it seems we really made a jump in a temporal warp vortex..
we dbetter deserve a Ti version as booth units are motorola chips, that would maybe escuse that total consummer abuse.

was very disapointed by access, hope they 'll let us trust back in them soon,
hundreds of people were abused in that concern...

....and the worst is saying there is no pb, when 250 people sees there are pb.. you know what i mean marc?

Ok now that's 3 month started this thread,

more than 6 month we are told an update is coming,

more than 5 years we are waiting.

WTF how are you on the update Access. You can't say "we don't comment " and let people wait for years that's insane.

lot of people sell their virus and poco only by your fault.
You have to fix it now and quick!!!!!

This is the end of the wait over for me now... I am selling my Virus Powercore and will never buy neither TC nor Access product in the future and will recommend the same for all of my musician around me.

Will buy a used NordRack 2x and the Sylenth synth to get the Virus character, together they add much more...and if it is not entirely the same? Who cares...

This ridiculous Virus Powercore "story" and the approach how Access and TC handled it was very unprofessional and cynical.

Bacizone

The 2X is outdated, feature weak, and totally vanilla... I don't think you are going to have much fun at all. Why not just get a Snow and use Virus Control. It is light-years beyond the TC/Virus plug anyway.

Surely the issue is Access & TC are rubbish at customer support?

They just bury their heads in the sand and refuse to communicate with existing customers. Very poor business practice and will earn the both bad reputations.

Can't wait to get rid of my Powercore headaches.

Powercore Virus is non functioning and over priced.

The main problem with this is the timing issues. I understand some bugs can be a pain for some developers but considering the length of time these bugs has existed surely it shouldn't take too many man hours to fix this??

Why is access dragging their feet on this?
