Ok....

A week ago everything was gravy. Slowly but surely while I was using 2.7.2 the USB audio started to fail. At first I could reset the virus either fully power down or just restart and sounds would come back via USB.

Now... No sound via USB at all. I have gone on to try 2.7.3, 2.7.5, 3.0.0, and finally even tried going back to 2.7.0074 or whatever it is.

The virus will transmit perfectly out of the audio jacks but USB audio is gone.

WHAT DO I DO?

Any help much appreciated. I just don't want to fully reformat.

Thanks to all the infected.

Reformatting is the easy way out. Use your hax !

Diagnosis:

Have you tried a different host/sequencer?
Have you tried the Virus in a different computer?
Have you tried a different USB slot?
Have you tried a different USB cable?
Check Device Manager (right click "My computer" > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager Button) to see if any of your USB drivers are reporting an error or address conflict

Resolution:

Try doing a System Restore
Find, download and reinstall USB drivers
Ensure that USB 2.0 is enabled in your motherboard's BIOS
In device manager, ensure that the computer MAY NOT shut down the USB device after a certain amount of time of inactivity
Uninstall and reinstall Virus Control
Check Power Options in Control Panel and make sure the computer does not enter a state of hibernation or sleep or turn its hard disks off after a certain amount of inactivity

before getting all crazy with reformatting... try running your software update so that you can get to 10.4.11.. as 10.4.1 is well outdated.

... and 10.4.6 is the supported minimum. as for the silent USB outs, i think that might be 3.0 public beta related.

I've tried everything to no avail. When I said I was on 10.4.1 i was actually on 10.4.11.

Different sequencer, computer, trouble shot this thing to hell and back.

Some strange things I have noticed are in the System Profiler under the USB page it does not say it is operating under a USB High Speed connection and I did some looking into it and that would make it operating at usb 1.0 standards. The other devices that are operating at high speed say so. I don't know if this have ever said high speed or not but I just noticed that.

Can any other Mac users with a TI plugged into a working system go to the system profiler under USB and tell me what their connection says?

Also when I tried hooking up the Virus to my dads g5 Imac as soon as it got to initiating the Virus TI plugin at startup of Cubase SX3 it killed the program. I am going to try with my Macbook Pro tomorrow to see if I get any other results.

Ive reset PRAM, Reformatted, used different USB ports and cables, tried using USB outs in Logic all to no avail.

Any more ideas?

Thanks all.
