Hi all,
Just installed this and now my TI keyboard is completely out of tune even though it's at 0 in the config. Any ideas?
Cheers.
switch between 48 and 44 khz in your host back & forth. It's an old trick from the early TI dayz, os 1.1 and so. Hope it works

I just did that in Logic as it seemed the sensible thing to do, was just coming back to report it was the solution! Thanks for the quick reply anyway!
Cheers.

This release works a lot better for me (Virus TI Snow, Cubase 4 Studio) than the previous 3.0 beta versions. This version is actually very usable, whereas previous versions would crash my snow within minutes.
The only [obvious] bug I've found is: in the patch browser in VC, I can't select presets from the bottom (second) box of the browser. If I click a preset in this box, it will actually select its counterpart in the top-box. Does this also happen on other TIs or just with the Snow?
Thanks a lot for this update! I *love* the looks of the new VC so much more than the old version... :p

arrgh. I can't reproduce this but...
...am i NOT supposed to be able to switch the 'CHARACTERS' mode on the fly?
I just did this with a simple watch (with WAVE PWM) as oscillators, and I got the loudest short pop/click right in my eardrum. owww...
anyone else get this?

I am not even getting the update to work. :P It stops during firmware update, all the time.
I tried different types of firmware versions now. I get the same error on them all. The installer says it is done. But the Virus acts like it is frozen in update mode (It probably is).

I would like to add that all the updates have worked for me so far, as a standalone device. I am on Mac, but my TI is the older desktop. Tomorrow I pick up the TI2, so we'll see if the updates still work then...

I fixed the problem. I will be very specific on how I did it. I tried to update it once again. Then while the firmware was updating. I did surf http://www.vintagesynth.com/ and it worked! Now 3.0.1.06 is installed. :D

Thank you Marc! My third USB output is back to working normally. You get the biggest online high-5 that I can give you over the forums. The update went without a hitch and I didn't even have to reset the Virus after the update which I had to do every time I tried to reinstall v3.0.1.04. Again, kudos to Marc and Access for pulling out this update with the quickness.

There is still one obvious bug left. The Key Follow Base parameter shows one octave higher value (default C2) than is realy set (default C1). The graphical representation in VC shows correct value (default C1).

I experienced the bug you found too. After restarting the vius it works well again, but later the bug is back again.
I also experienced that when switching sounds during play the synchronisation is constantly lost and in 2 hours times the virus 6 times crashes!! Notes will hang then and there is a loud noise coming out of the virus and nothing works anymore. After restarting everything works again.
This is the first time (OS) I experience crashes.

I can has afraid.
No need to be afraid. You can safely experiment with the new OS beta versions (if you're not under deadline pressure, that is) since you can always revert back to older versions like 2.7.x whenever you want.
Just enjoy!
:p
I've had my Ti for 2.5 years but ever since 2.7.3 + has come out it just will not install the firmware, i managed to get os3 installed once by down grading to 2.0.3 and then ug to os3 but neither of the new updates ,3.0.5 or 3.0.6 will install which has left me going back to and stuck in 2.5.1. I would try 3.0.0 again but its not on the access site and I have deleted it off my pc. Any else have these problems with 2.7.3 etc where access changed the installer package where we used to have the cup of tea/coffee on the TI screen while the firmware updated. I have been in touch with access support over a number of weeks and tried all the known
tricks but no joy. But I do believe if i had mac i would have no probs with updates.

:idea:I would love it if access would use the 2.5.1 installer package with the newer 2.7.3 - 3.0.6 versions to see if solves my problem as all the versions to 2.5.1 were and are still rock solid when you install them, no hanging on the found 1 virus TI, switching to update mode screen
And damn the Graindance, Plasmatron challenge was better than I thought,GJVTI got both my votes but not only that i've got 5-6 different verisons of the patches. I guess they would now be official graindance and plasmatron or, unofficial as the site suggests, patches.

I can confirm this problem.
I have managed to install the 3.0.x.x packages after a numbers of time. Usually the firmware stop during update on the access virus. So the access virus freeze. And I have to try the update again, and again. I can also tell that I have done the same as mr m. I did install an old packages with the virus ti software, earlier than 2.7.5. (Cause these packages get installed with no problems) and then upgrade it to 3.0.x.x. This works sometimes. I have been sitting for hours trying to install the update. I finaly made it install. This was the problem I was talking about earlier in this thread.
I run windows xp2 and use Access Virus TI keyboard. (For the information).

I also had some problems with upgrading my version (from 2.7.3).
I managed to get the update running smoothly by disconnecting the power completely first.
but I do have the same problems which are known already, notes getting stucked and sometimes the lower patch select window doesn't reflect the patches and it selects one of the top patch window.
oh and i don't know if it was mentioned before but last night (after upgrading) , when i (soft) powered down my TI desktop the lfo3 led didnt go out.
other then that a damn fine job :D

I've never had any problems installing any of the OS updates, including the public betas. Before installing a new update, I will always uninstall the Virus TI Driver and Virus TI Software Suite from Add/Remove Programs first and then install the new update. This has always worked for me, so I would recommend doing it this way to anyone who is experiencing update problems.

Marc,
I will check this issue when I get home tonight. I was aware of the volume problem since 3.0.0 to 3.0.1
Yesterday I updated from 3.0.1.00 to 3.0.1.06 to solve the direktdata.bin file that kept showing up on my desktop, which I believe has been fixed. My install went smoothly running on Mac Pro OS running 10.5.6.

I can confirm this as well.
And my atomizer "works best" after it is set to off. :P
It does not happen that often. But If I have used the atomizer, set it to off position again, it will make noise at random time. The sound of the atomizer comes from no where and it's loud. This may cause you to soil your pants.
To make it stop, you have to reboot your virus.
Anyway.. Rebooting the virus is not a permanent solution. :P

if the LFO lights stay on, you need to reboot the virus. it indicates that one of the 2 DSPs has crashed.
