I have a virus snow and novation remote 37 SL

I am connecting the midi out of the novation to the midi in of the virus and novation midi in from the virus midi out

I am keeping the snow is single mode and it doesn't seem t work? What am I missing here? When I click audition I get sound so I know its not the sound card. The novation also works with ll my softsynths

do you see a small "USB" symbol in the upper right corner?
when USB is connected and a sequencer uses the MIDI ports, the connectors on the snow are a MIDI interface and route into the computer, not to the synth.

is the remote sending midi on the right channel? it sounds like you're just using the snow standalone (analogue outs going into your sound card, but not using virus control?). I've read that the midi in port is disabled when using USB.

Assuming the USB cable is not connected. Check the lower right
hand corner of the display as you play a note on your controller.
If it's displaying a 1/2 note the unit is receiving MIDI but on the wrong channel.
Default is channel one. Make sure your novation is sending one only channel one.

Also, check your config settings and make sure the "Virtual MIDI through" isn't selected.

I have the usb cable disconnected and i dont see the display on the snow you are talking about. I am thinking it must be something setup on the novation. Aside from setting to channel 1 is there anything else I should look for?

You should also check to see that the novation is sending midi (on the correct channel) to the Midi output you've selected. I believe your remote has 2 midi outs and it's possible to set them up differently.

I did make sure the cable was using midi out 1 , but not sure if the novation was set to use that, is that what the problem could be?

Ok I cant really find much information how to set the remote sl up just for midi, this is really weird if anyone can simplify this for me that would be great I just can find which menu I should get into on the novation to make sure its sending midi out the right port
