View Full Version : TI2 polar bug?: Cutoff-filter jumps...

On certain sounds, suddenly the cutoff filter jumps to 127.
It is not shown on the screen as it normally is when you turn it up yourself by turning the knob.
This really sucks, since I use the Ti2 live on two different tours right now.
Does anybody know about this.
BTW. I did not do the 3.03 update yet, but maybe that would help...?
Thanks

No, have not come across it yet. Is it always on the same sounds or does it happen on no matter what sound you are using? What mode is the Polar in, single or multi? Are you using the polar standalone or connected to a DAW?

It's usually on the same patches - some old one I transfered from my old virus indigo as midi-dumps...
and it's in single mode - not connected to a daw...

The knob mode could cause jumping but not always to 127 unless the knob is always hard at max when it is moved.
I suspect that the sound you transfered did not come over to the polar cleanly. Try to transfer it again if that isn't mending the problem recreate it on the polar.
If the patch is not too precious you could post it here or attach it to a pm and I/we can have a look if your problem can be recreated and potentially find the cause.

Actually it happens to all sounds at some point.
Maybe it is the knob mode - it's set to jump.
Does anybody have any experience with this being a problem.
I used to NOT have it set to jump mode on my old indigo, but for some reason I kinda like it better that way now.
But if I can avoid the jumping by changing the knob mode that's what I'll do.
I'm not sure, if it always jumps to 127, I must say...

I had a similar problem. The filter jumped and also lfo2rate jumps to 127.
When I went back to os2.7.5 the jumps still occured.
I could load the patch while cubase playing but when i stopped playback the parameters jumped.
I never had this with os2.7.5 so i went looking in cubase setup and actually found out I had to deselect all chase event controllers. Now it stoped doing this and I think the new os should work as well.
Let me know if this solves your problem.

Well, my cutoff filter is happening also when I'm not connected to any daw, pedal, or anything...
I installed the 3.03 os but haven't installed the latest beta - I don't feel confident using an os that's not confirmed stable, 'cause I'm using my virus in big live concerts for different major artist...
So, I'd rather live with the knob jumping than risking a system crash during a concert, you know... :-)
Later today I'll try to change the knob mode and see if it changes anything...
