Hi,

I'm running Protools 7 (Mbox 2) with my virus Ti desktop (v3.0.3.00) and reason rewired into my session. I haven't be able to record smoothly yet, the Ti goes all out of snyc (especially if i use arps) i've got my buffer size set to 512, the ignore clicks and pops setting makes it worse also, have tried all sorts of different playback settings but i get a playback error when i change it (as i have audio running through rewire) and that same snycing problem to more or lesser degrees.. Also I will get a loud sudden crackling sound sometimes if i start the playback from a different spot...any thoughts?

Cheers

You guys are not alone, I've been having the same issues running VC on a powermac with pro tools 7.4 & 8 since I got the synth earlier this year. Despite contacting Access who where no use whatsoever & ranting on about it on this list nothing has been done about it. I have given them very easy instructions on how to reproduce the arp sync problem which I can do every time but still nothing. I even asked marc to confirm or deny this problem...stoney silence.
I can run the VST VC with Live on the same set up without any of these problems so I'm convinced there is still a lot of issues with the RTAS version that are not easily fixable. Obviously the VST & AU versions have had a longer time to develop but the fundamental flaws in the RTAS version makes it unusable for me which is a shame as this is my main DAW & this is an expensive piece of kit. I'm glad you guys are having the same experience...now I know its not just me. Hopefully they will do something about it in the near future.

yea its a bitch! so your thinking it is a driver problem? I will rollback the driver to the last stable verison and see if that helps...

thanks, will look into this. a bit unsure though as I don't have 2 processors...or does hyperthreating count do you think?

Update everything on your PC and tweak it to the max that meaning shutting down uneccesary services...
Try these sites:

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

http://home.comcast.net/~SupportCD/OptimizeXP.html

http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

Also use lower buffer sizes like 256 or 128...I personally use 128
and try a good defragment utility like "O & O defrag"
