Hey,
I don't have VIRUS TI Synth, but i own KORG R3. There are numerous good patches for VIRUS TI which i want to recreate on my Korg synth. Let's say i have a midi file with Virus Ti Patches signature set and i want to know what settings are for the presets and than use those settings to recreate Korg patch? Is there any way to do this?
Thanks

short answer: Buy a TI.
long answer: you could possibly dissect a patch and try to recreate the functionality with the features of the R3, but it won't be the same. Buy a TI, saves a lot of time and money.

1. The only right possibility is to buy a TI, so you get THE original sound.
2. To recreate a Virus sound on a R3 is more than luck, it's impossible. But you can try to get a Korg sound which is sounds as near as a Virus sound and listen carefully and tweak the sound on your Korg. IMHO you won't be happy with the results because the sound architecture is completely different. You must be a real pro in tweaking and even then you will not get the sound. The Virus is a complex unique sounding synth, so don't get me wrong but again buy a Virus is the best option (is saving time).
You can't recreate a Virus sound on the R3 only a sort of .....

you would need to load it into the TI, inspect all settings and try to create it on the R3 same way. But since the modules and mod matrix etc. are not the same PLUS the virus sounds pretty unique, I would consider this as not possible.

Not to spoil your dinner, but the Virus TI produces up to 80 voices, and has a completely different DSP in it...... so sound comparison is no comparison, synthesizers between synthesizers are totally different sounding, different species. Trying to recreate a patch on the R3 with exactly the same Virus signature sound could simply be an impossible task depending on how in-depth a certain patch on the Virus can provide, for instance the R3 reverb sounds awful (as close as you can get to banging sheets of metal without actually physically doing it) just like the radias I had, and delay depth was so minimal compared to my SH-201. R3 Hypersaw recreations don't contain that booming sound, it sounds metallic and undefined. So really I would look at it like this, you get what you pay for, R3 = $600 vs. Virus TI = $3000. Really is there a comparison?

it´s funny that everyone trys to copy the virus sound with hard and software
and lots of people think when they buy a virus their tracks will improve without doing anything
if the virus sound is that what you like then buy a virus ti or snow, really simple
