Got it installed. Upon loading Virus TI Snow VC, 'synching memory with virus' screen appears. Never seen that one before. It says on the screen "initializing virus ti and syncing memory. this might take a couple of seconds." but it took 3-4 mins. Is this normal? GUI slowness is still there. Seems to work fine other than those.

This is normal but should only happen once after you have installed a new version of the OS. A wonder that you've never noticed that before!?!

I've never noticed that before. Weird.
Installation went perfect here on XPsp3, SX3 and Ti1 Desktop.

I am so curious if the rest of the issues have been resolved lol, I am buying my TI 2 next week!
Sneezing solved?
I don't know
Just tested it for 1/2 hour without problems, but also I never experienced a sneeze with 3.0.3 or 3.0.4 (but have to say that I never use the virus for hours and hours in one time)

So sad, since 3.0.4 is impossible to make work VC with Reaper. Same for 3.0.5... it will never "link" with the VirusTI...
UPDATE:
I figured out that basically the VirusControlVST, with Reaper, is unable to put the hardware unit in the -SEQ MODE- so you have to do it manually holding together the two buttons MULTI/SINGLE. Doing that you get the VirusControlVST to communicate correctly with the hardware. SADLY this is only the begin of the hell.
Until you make one single automation lane over any knob you are kinda safe, when you make the 2nd one for another parameter (any parameter, both VST or CC messages) HELL COMES ON EARTH. The sound goes on frenzy and the hardware unit screams.
UPDATE 2 (IMPORTANT! CUBASE SLUGGISH GUI issue maybe found!):
Found out that is a GUI redrawing issue of the VST... Crazy but if i close the VC window the sound and automations works perfectly!
If i reopen it back the sound starts again to scream...
I attached the Reaper project showing the issue quite clearly. Just open the FX chain for the VirusTI channel and press the -UI- button (Reaper have the feature to disable, on request, the GUI of the VST, disabling it there is no issue with the VC but it becomes clearly unusable. click that button and the GUI of the VC comes back)
I think the issue is that the VC is asking excessive redrawing of the controls when it receives "automation commands" from the host (probably for syncronization?).
Marc or someone at Access could check it,
I DEFINITELY think this is the cause of "sluggish GUI" that affects also Cubase.

I am experiencing the same issue when I host the Virus in KORE. I have contacted technical support and they advise that there are no plans to include KORE as a host. Hopefully a future update will inadvertently fix this. After a lengthy session yesterday I am pleased to report that I am sneeze free.

Today the developers of Reaper contacted the technical support of AccessMusic... let's see if they can do something together.
Cockos (the guys behind Reaper) are totally disponible for find a solution. Solved this one the VirusTI works flawlessy on Reaper.
Here the video showing the bug and how to replicate it:

Oops, never knew that ! (and have actually used VC in Reaper several times - although have gotten connection problems a couple of times, as well).
- What's wrong with Reaper?
- Shouldn't VC work in any VST-compatible host?
- Are there plans to support Reaper in the future?

total integration works with compatible host. with others, your milage might vary. compatible means that we test against the host. if a host is not on the list, that doesn't mean that there is something wrong with it. it just means, it is not officially supported. nevertheless, if we can, we fix incompatibilities - there is no advantage to us in having issues with other products.

Hi Marc, i know Reaper isnt a supported host but being both a Reaper and a Cubase user and noticing those stuffs make me wonder if is not the same problem.

this is getting confusing. which problem do you have with windows XP/Vista and Cubase 4.x or 5.x?

With various envelopes running basically the VC goes crazy. For various i mean 4-5 at a time.
On Cubase i dont get the drastic issue as in Reaper but is still there.
I have also to add that i ran the test with FLstudio and, with 4 envelopes it goes frenzy too EXACTLY like Reaper does. (FL is in the supported list (http://access-music.de/compato.php4) as stated on AccessMusic website)
With Schwa of Reaper developers i ran few tests to trim down this issue and the result (quoted directly from him)
drakeblood ran a test build that confirms the issue is within Virus TI. Specifically (and technically), with the GUI open and automation running, the plugin takes too long to respond to AEffect::setParameter, so the automation messages from Reaper (and other hosts too, NdD) get backlogged.
This is something they need to fix on their side. If for architectural reasons it just takes a while to send the automation message from the plugin to the synth, they could queue the message to the synth and return quickly from setParameter without blocking. As demostration of this "fuzzy sound" issue here also a project made with latest FLStudio release showing it perfectly (8.5 beta5, but i tested it with FL7 and FL8 too, i can send even those project if required)
I will forward the issue also to AccessMusicSupport, would love that this issue gets resolved.

just testet the new beta in Win XP SP2, works great now and no slugginess at all! great work access
but still sluggy in Windows 7
so my guess was aero & windows 7 skin, changing to classic but that didn´t change the slugginess

3.0.5.00 loaded and I am sneeze-free. This OS is working great on my rig.

Everything is all good here. Wasn't able to use .4, but this is working fine.
Sneezing appears to be gone, but I'm still getting the little pitch/mod/transpose glitch in the UI.

It does appear to be better(prbb). Although, in Logic 9, like in 8, unless I select the TI track in REC mode, it kicks in late. I'm not just talking about arps here, I mean normal sounds too. So that info marc was talking about obviously did not come to light. I'll be long gone before I see my TI work smooth with Logic. No sneeze yet though...I just want to create without hiccups and this very expensive machine has been a ballache from day one.....

I decided to take the plunge and install 3.0.5 from 3.0.3 (with which I also had sneezing problems). I haven't encountered any problems yet with 3.0.5 but I did notice that the OS3 Splash keeps showing up on Cubase restarts, even though I click on "Don't show again"

Sneezing ok so far.
But don't try and change wave table functions via knobs (maybe rapidly).
Lost a developing/developed sound because of this.
Really shitty.
If anyone sees a crash similar, pls post as it could be a dormant bug

The sneezing was from the Operating System crashing and you could hear static sound and it sounded like a sneeze without the ahhchooo part, so its like kshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I used OS 3.0.5 pb on my TI mkI desktop with VC + Ableton Live 8.0.4 for several hours and no problems so far. Finally...

Well I just got my VirusTI Desktop, but so far I have not experienced any crashes on my Mac Powerbook in Ableton Live 7.0.16(think thats it) or my Windows comp WinVista 32bit same version of Ableton. I upgraded to the new drivers right away so I'm not sure what the sneezing issue was, but I'm pretty certain I'm not having it.

..."sneezing". I hadn't heard it described that way before, but I knew exactly what it was as soon as I read it. Someone deserves an award or something for that one! I'm on OS 3.0.3 using Cubase SX3... will try 3.0.5 once it's an official release. (Not a "front lines, bleeding edge" kind of guy.)
Being as this is my first post, and not wanting to start my time here on a slightly negative note, let me add that my Virus has been the source of much sonic happiness! My first synth purchase and I couldn't be happier... unless there was a way to Bluetooth my brain with Howard Scarr's.

Really odd this one.
Virus has run perfectly on my rig since Jan this year. All beta updates ran fine.
Ran 3.0.5 and whilst it installs seamlessly Cubase 5 will not recognise it has attached.
Have used sames usb port and desintalled everything and resintalled after reboot etc.
Updated again no issues still
No use in Cubase 5.
Changed USB lead and again same issue.
Either cant see virus or asks to do a reset reboot (done several times)
Also states could be due to too many USB Hardware devices attached.
Same as before but tried with less.
USB Dongle
Access virus TI
mouse
Keyboard
Nothing has changed still wont play ball
Went back to 3.0.4 still no good same issue.
Trying 3.1.00 now but not holding hope
Yep done this and deinstalled everything deleted all virus ti files and still up the swannie .!. F****d
