Unexpected remix success :)

I while ago I was messing about with a remix of "I gotta feeling" by the black eyed peas. I only found out about the remix comp a few days before the deadline and kind of hacked it together in a few evenings, then ran out of time to even do a half decent polishing job and submited it anyway even though I thought it was way to rough and pretty much forgot about it - ugh!

Yesterday I get an email from beatport to say its was awarded a runner up place - #6 out of about 1200 or so entries :D

The remix is now featured on the Black Eyed Peas fan site at http://blackeyedpeas.dipdive.com/media/87288

Fergie has also posted it on her fan site at http://www.facebook.com/fergie

Hate that song, but your remix brings out the nice changes in it and in a tidy commercial manner too - easy to imagine it banged out on any top40 dance club - as you said I reckon rough but you could tidy it up and make it a lot sharper. Congratulations anyway mate! Always awesome to get some nice accomplishments in the music world, since the day to day side tends to be a bit of a bitch. Well done.

Nice clean mix, good arrangement like the intro build and changes in the tune. Does sound like the original a bit but you know exactly what the tune is before the vocals kick in...well done mate, good to see some success on the forum :)

Missed this first time around. The original song by BEP really lends itself to be remixed. Yours is fabulous Khazul and definately worthy of #2. Conger ratz old boy :)
