virus b soundset midi dump issues

hi.

i have just found this forum, i gotta say its a fantastic source for info.

now then i have done a search but nothing definative has been posted regarding this issue. i have just bought some soundsets for my virus b i just bought. each soundset comes with a sounddiver lib, midi file with sysex embedded or a sysex file.

now the sysex file dump works great, however if i do the midi file dump to the virus i get the se in the display, however on completion there is nothing loaded into the virus.

i changed the setup to force into bank a and not into the edit buffer, but no joy. after the midi file has played and the sysex has been recieved there is nothing there.

i used to own a virus a years ago and it worked fine in that, anything im missing in the b? its been a while since i owned a virus so i need to play catch up.

i have read the manual several times now and i am still having the same issue, i have read the sticky above also regarding midi dumps to and fro.

however i am still not getting any soundset into the virus b afer playing it.

can anyone offer any help on this?

I'm having the same problem with a Ti Polar. The manual directs me to p. 88 and the "recieve dump" parameter, midi dump rx. However, there is no such parameter..! How does this work? I can't seem to resolve it since the particular page in the config menu does not exist..!

analogaddict i cant help you im afraid i really wish i could, it seems that no-one can be bothered to help here.

i just spent a few hours trying a few things out and checking stuff over, i finally solved the issues i was having with my virus b, in the end i used midi ox to send the files to my virus, hey presto they work first time every time now.

another little known fact is some usb midi interfaces have issues sending certain sysex packets over a certain file size, so if your not getting soundset midi files to dump to your virus this could be the reason, check the buffer settings.

make sure midi rx is on enable ( mine was all the time ) i knew mine was because of the os upgrades that took and the bank upgrades.

if anyone else has had or is having similar issues of soundsets not loading then try it that way.

hopefully this will be of use to someone else who comes in here.

Thanks, I've done OS upgrades som I guess rx is on then. What baffles me is that the manual directs me to a non-existing parameter page. That's really odd, if you ask me. Oh well, time for a support mail, I suppose.
