View Full Version : Clear RAM banks

I want to clear out the RAM banks. (I have a need for plenty of empty places to store my sounds. I always worry that I'm overwriting something that may have been important.)

Is there a way to do this in VC? I would also like to keep my patches that I have intentionally stored. But I was hoping I'd be able to select many banks and then just hit delete. Or at least drag the INIT patch to each one without trading places.

What can I do?

Just copy a blank bank to each bank you want to replace in the Virus Control Center. Just make sure you back up anything you want to keep before you do it. Personally I wait till I have a bank full of my own sounds then replace banks on an individual basis as it takes a bit of time.

This will be faster if I use the virus itself!

OR, does anyone have a blank bank I could download?

I gotta say, as a patch librarian VC feels pretty half-baked.

In VC just copy and paste 1 blank patch, then 2, then 4, then 8 etc. You will have a completely blank bank in no time at all.

That sure seems like it would make sense! Copy/paste do nada for me. Issue may be that I'm using "UglyVSTi Interface" (A Max/MSP-based VSTi host). In which host(s) does copy/paste work properly? Another free plugin hosts suggested?

As I don't use the Virus as a plugin, I'd prefer VC to be able to function a bit more like Sounddiver (or modern equivalent).
