Here's the first draft of my new track 'Free Bass' for your perusal...would like to get a fresh pair of ears on this, so let me know what you think.

Thanks for the share, white lines takes me back. Still got it on 12'' amongst other. Nice breaks mix by the way.

Cheers mate, thanks for listening. Yeah I managed to snag both 12" vinyls that where released originally & sampled the bits I wanted. You can still hear some slight worn vinyl noise in there but I think this adds to the old school character of the track. I'm still not happy with the the DIY mastering job & there's a few other things I'm going to change but this is just the first draft.
I should have it pretty close in another week or so. I'll hit this thread up when its done.

I think that there is too much compression on the mix.

In my mind the over compression gives the track a vaccuum feel, with the background noise I feel it's a poigniant result.

Well I have to agree with the groovy ninja, it was way to compressed...thats what you get for being a lazy bugger & using presets. I had another go at mastering it but I will be the first to admit that it is definitely NOT one of my strong points & really should be left to people who actually know what they are doing ; )
Anyway I only really made it just for the fun of it & planned on making it a free dl, so no cash for pro mastering on this one.

Raining all day today so I thought I would have a stab at making a video. This is my very first attempt at making a video & also the first time I have ever used iMovie so it's not too pro but may give you a laugh as long as you dont have any cocaine issues ; )

Berni got to say I love the track. The basslines just keep me in a zone. Epic track mate, like it a lot and mentioned before love the original.

Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed. Yeah the video was one of those 'nothing to do on a rainey afternoon' deals. I just googled 'white lines' & got a bunch of images off the net & took a few 'interesting angle' shots of my old SL1200, stook it all in iMovie (which I have never used before) & added some FX.
Now I have a better understanding of the program the next vid will be better.

Cheers mate...just used the stuff in iMovie. Dead simple program to use...not really any pro features but I'm no pro ; )
