USB kills my MIDI cable in (Snow)

Hi, I have a question please. I have a Snow and are using it as soundcard on my Mac, so of course the USB is connected. I also have a keyboard connected via Midi so that I can just play with the Virus anytime without having to launch Logic. The problem I have is that sometimes the plain old Midi in from the keyboard does not work, I hit the keys and get nothing from the Snow. The Midi input seems to have trouble working if the USB is connected.

If I disconnect the USB then the Midi in starts working (but of course I don't want to do this because I use Snow as a soundcard).

Sometimes both work but after a while the Midi disappears. It seems like they are both fighting for input control of the Snow and USB always wins in the end. Does anyone else have this problem and did you happen to find a solution?

I would just like to be able to play my Snow at any time without having to launch logic and set it up as a plugin.

I'm having a similar problem with my Polar. Im using midi in and out to control software synths because the usb cable is giving me loads of latency, but i need the usb cable to be connected because the virus vst won't work with out it. Its super annoying because then usb cancels out the midi cables!
Seems like its a problem for most people, sorry I cant help you but I hoping there's someone who can!

As far as I know its just the way the Virus works unfortunately. The USB cancels out the regular midi to avoid much midi confusion.

It's how it works - not using the plugin allows MIDI in (I usually do this and have my keyboard controller hooked up on the Virus anyway: when I switch the DAW software on, MIDI will pass through the Virus and into the DAW ehere I can route it appropriately)

The plugin is not running but when USB is connected the Midi in stops working, so not using the plugin does not allow midi in - if the USB is connected.

This is akward when using Snow as a sound card, it means because the USB is always connected I cannot get a midi in from the keyboard.

Maybe that's the difference (also I have the desktop, not the Snow - with USB connected but not using a DAW it does receive MIDI via the MIDI input)
