There are no drum kits nor drum maps (à la Waldorf). There are quite a bit of drum patches (either single shot and rhythms) but that's it. I suggest you synthesize and sample your own drum kit and load it into a proper drum sequencer

As mentioned, the Virus uses 100% synthesis. No samples here (drum kits, sampled pianos, guitars, etc.).

However you can synthesize individual drum/percussion sounds - there are patches that demonstrate this - and you could create your own "kit" of these synth percussion patches in a Multi if desired.

But for samples, stick with a sampler/groovebox or a ROMpler workstation (M3/Triton/Motif/Fantom etc).

I wouldn't be upset that your virus doesn't have drum kits... Like it's said the virus is a synth. Thats what I use mine for. I hope virus stays this way too and never tries to be more than that.

I'd really like if there was the "drum map" feature - which doesn't need to be used for drums at all...you can load 32 patches (without keytracking, so perfect for synth drums, synth zaps, single shot sounds) into a single slot without the need to burn up parts for those kind of sounds.

In the end I still think sampling your own synth drums and using them in a more appropriate sequencer is better :)
