Virus TI and Multi-mode

I'm attempting to use the Virus TI without a computer with Multi-Mode. The manual states the below,

In the Virus TI however, each of the 16 Parts actually contains
the equivalent of a Single program. Parts also require a few
additional parameters (e.g. transposition, keyboard range)
which are all accessed via MULTI EDIT – hold down SHIFT and
press the master EDIT button to the left of the display:

However, when I load a single onto a part in a multi, tweak away and store this multi. When I reload this multi patch, it reverts to the settings from the single. This contradicts to what is stated in the manual.

How do you manage multi-mode patches?

O.k. I've worked it out, I was re-initialising the patch by reloading the original in the edit-multi menu.

Next question, how do you export your multi patches? Is this possible without a full backup/restore? Also, I assume you can only have 128 multis per unit?

Answer from virus suport on the first question,

There are 2 different areas in the Multi storage: the first 16 slots (0 through 15) store the Multi program *and* the actual changes done to a sound. All other Multi programs past that (so from 16 on upwards) solely store the Multi program settings *without* any changes done to sounds. For these Multi programs you would have to store also the changed settings of a Single Sound to its actual Single Sound location (however you can only store sounds to RAM banks).

In addition to 16 the embedded-style multi program which store all 16 single parts within the patch, TIOS 1.1 offers 112 “traditional” multi programs which store references to the single mode patches in RAM A-D and ROM A-Q. The additional multi patches can be found on program number 17-127.

And finally, the last piece of the puzzle ...

One option would be to use the TI's "Transmit MIDI Dump" function in its CONFIG menu. This function allows you to select what data you want to send out through the TIs MIDI OUT port as SysEx data. Here you can select "Multi Bank", which would send out all Multi Programs as SysEx data. You would have to record this data then into a Midi sequencer.
