Hi all, i'm new on the forum.

I bought a Ti(1) keyboard last week to replace my Kb. Unfortunately it has a problem. Every so often the sound from the patch (single or multi) I'm playing cuts out and I get a really bad sound coming out. If I keep playing, this strange noise coughs and splutters for ages.

Here's the weird thing; if I hook-up my Kb to the Ti via midi, The problem is identical on both synths at the exact same time. The Kb is not affected if they're not joined by midi.

My synths are used as stand alone keyboards and not connected to a computer. My first thought was that it was a mains power problem, but I have changed mains sockets and used another power cord but the problem is still there. The Ti doesn't have the most recent OS and I'm wondering if updating would solve it???

I would be grateful for any help.
Regards
Derek.

My gear is for live shows and as it stands at the moment, the Ti is useless.

are you running pre OS 4 on your ti? sounds like the noise bursts/splutters that happened quite a bit. i'd try updating to a stable release version of 4 and see if it reoccurs.

Thanks for the reply. The Ti is running 4.0.5.0.1. I'll update the OS when I get the chance.

Just to clarify, even if the midi cable is plugged into the Midi Out of the KB and into the Midi In on the Ti, the sound still comes through to the KB. So it's not sending note data, it's more like interference of some kind.

Derek.

Still no further forward with this problem.

It happens with mono patches in the RAM banks. I don't remember it happening to any of the ROM patches. could it be a corrupt RAM?

I set up a split with a pad on the left hand and a mono patch on the right, and the pad is uninterrupted when the mono patch starts to pop and splutter..

Please listen to an audio sample on my website at

Thanks
Derek.

have you tried different outputs ie: the spdif or headphones to see if the noise problem is there. Might be bad main outputs.

Just a thought,
Good Luck,

Since updating to 4.5.3, I've actually had a similar problem happen twice. Using the TI2 keyboard standalone. I dunno what's going on.

I have the same problem in a new TI "Darkstar". I returned it and got another. Same deal. It is only only one or two sounds so far but then again, I have not had it long enough to know. Think I should return it and get something else?

If I where you I would definitely return it for a refund & get something else. I know I will never buy anything else from access. Way too much hassle, way too flaky & way too much money.
