Dark Star Polar arrived yesterday. This bad boy, along with my TI Desktop is going to cause some damage.

I'm running an iMac, along with USB midi interface, USB soundcard, and some other USB devices. Using the 2 master USB slots on the iMac for the virus is going to cause latency issues with the sound card and other devices. The midi interface NEEDS the master.

So, I was thinking about ditching the plugins on the viruses, as I can do all the programming from the knobs anyway and plugging them into my midi interface.

Could I still use controllers, such as my Lemur, to send control changes and midi data to the viruses using if I don't use the USB?

Thanks.

As long as you have the CC list I don't see why not. In case you don't already have one, here's a pdf of the Virus MIDI CC list (http://elektron-users.com/index2.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_view&gid=520&Itemid=30).

Perfect :D

Are there limitations to what can be controlled via midi over USB? Does USB allow you to control more?

127 control changes is enough, just questioning.
