Hi, i would like to buy the best studio monitors around 300eur / 400 $ and i need some good experienced user advice.

I don't need a big sound, but the closest fidelity for a low budget studio.

Thanks!

Self powered, or passive? For powered monitors, I quite like the KRK Rokit's, but you should sample a few choices in person.

Hey Rick, yes powered monitors. The Rokit's are among my favorites even if i don't have tried it.

I use the passive Event 20/20's but if I was in the market today I would buy these

Monitors are the best thing you can spend your money on. Know that the room you are using them in is as important as the monitors themselves. Invest in something like this:

Of all the monitors at that price I've heard I would definitely recommend the Tannoy Reveals at that price... But better monitors are recommended ;)

do you think better monitors is like to say "louder" ones?

my dream is to have a very good fidelity at low volumes; don't know if this is possible.
the choice is not easy....

In a low volume situation go for best sound quality, that's why I recommended the Dynaudio. If you have cheap speakers there is just no way to hear what is actually going on. To me I tested the usual suspects at the local music shop and it was like.. I may as well be in K-Mart listening to the HiFi boxes there.
On a similar note, I walked into a High Street "HiFi" shop and speakers there cost 5 times more for the same size and 5 times worse sounding than what I have now.
