Routing audio into the virus / ableton

Hey all,

I am not getting the results I am looking for when trying to send audio into the virus via the analog inputs from my sound card?

what is the best way to set up the virus and ableton to get it happening?

on the virus I have the input config set to 127

I have tried sending audio to the virus plugin, (I get a weird chorus phasing effect with those efx off)

and I have tried sending it to the desired output of mys sound card to the virus in?

Though there is a slight delay from the source going into the virus, how can I fix this?
