II am new here and to the TI. I'm either missing something, confused, or crazy. I have installed the latest OS from Access (4.5.3.0 installer 64 bit) but after doing so, the only "executable file" I see is the Virus Control Center. Yet I keep seeing screen shots of some grandiose PC software associated with OS 4. Sorry to sound so dumb, but where is the rest of the suite?

The installation shall include the Virus Control for full editing of the TI, but only as a VST/AU/RTAS-plugin. Not an executable. So you need a VST-host, a DAW or something to use it.

If you just want to use the VCC, check this list: bpb Freeware Studio: Best Free VST Host Applications (http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2011/05/16/bpb-freeware-studio-best-free-vst-host-applications/)

BTW, there are confirmed reports that MiniHost works with VC, but you can try other options and report back here.

OK. Thanks! Here's what I have. Just for fun, downloaded a trial version of CakeWalk Sonar LE, and Zynewave Podium. Still cannot "see" the TI or access the VCC. I think this is because my only PC connection is via USB, and I need a MIDI interface. So, while I have you all here:

If I had an M-Audio Uno USB~MIDI connection, I'd probably be in luck, correct?

And, say, with the above software, I suppose it would possible to record something like a simple four track song? Like if I wanted to hack our Gary Numan's Random, I could record each synth one at a time and combine them in the studio software?

I know this is elementary, but I am just starting out.

Thanks for the tips!

You must use USB Connection in order to use the Virus Center. There's no need to use MIDI cable. The Virus Control Center should recognize the Virus when you plug it with USB. In order to use the Virus Center, you have to launch your DAW (Sonar) and there you need to add a new VST instrument called "Virus TI". Also, you can configure the Virus as your main sound card so you should hear every sound from your computer on the L&R main outputs or the Virus. If this doesn't happen, you need to troubleshot your system.
