I've gotten some e-mails with a minor price drop from some places at least on the Snow (not much, like a hundred bucks... but it made me wonder if something new is coming).

Anyone know anything? I'd love to think there is a new model I can at least gawk at and wonder if the integration really works. Still keeping my eye on the product line.

Well its been 7 years since they released the first TI so a new model is looooooong over due. All the signs are there...cash incentives for existing owners of older virus's, small dealer discounts to get rid of there old stock etc. etc. The question is if they did come out with a new model would you want to spend a lot of money on something that will probably frustrate the hell out of you for months/years like the early adopters of the TI. As good as the virus sounds I know I would not buy anything from access again, they fucked up too badly for far too long with the TI & there is no way I am paying a large sum of money to go through that hell again.

I dunno, if they come out with a new model it will be interesting to me (although it's unlikely I'd be an early purchaser). Sometimes I wonder if I bought a Virus and just didn't expect the integration to work, would I be happy with it? I don't know... most hardware boards don't even attempt integration, so if I were going to get a hardware synth I don't know what else I would get (any suggestions?).

About the price drop, well I hope it means a new model is on the way but it does not seem to be across all sellers and models. Also, there was a significant price drop around 2009 or so when I bought my Ti2 desktop (then returned it), but it was temporary and they went back up in price, to remain there since.

Well of course we would all be interested in a new virus & lets face it they better put something new out soon. My question is would you buy it & you have already answered that question.
From a personal point of view I don't think I need another hardware synth, the TI is finally doing what I want & I also have the NI komplete/Maschine package so I have all kinds of synthesis to play with. I'm not buying any more gear this year.

One of the things I'm curious about is Thunderbolt support. I wonder how many of the issues and limitations I saw with my desktop were from USB performance (or lack thereof). I really haven't been following the technologies lately but last time I checked, thunderbolt looked liked a potential solution.

Overall I agree though about Access as a company -- seems like they just don't try hard enough or care enough. But, in the end if the gear turns out to be great then maybe its in my future.

They've certainly been quiet, despite releasing OS5 as beta as opposed to a full release as yet. Would love it if they were indeed working on something in the background.

If any new Virus sports an even greater palette of oscillator types (user waves maybe(!) though this may be a personal thing), increased functionality, more modular possibly, maybe even some new emulated filters, I'd do my best to trade in my Indigo for one. Even now, the difference between the Indigo (Virus B engine) and the Ti is substantial, even though I'm not a totally integrated type person (I have a dedicated audio soundcard, and I'm an old skool midi freak. Would be nice to have it as a librarian functionality like SoundDiver though).

User generated PCMs would be enough to sell a new one to me! So long as the price doesn't increase, it would crucify me.
