virus C midi out not reconized in Ableton

NEW IDIOT ON THE BLOG.....! I read the manual, searched forums and googled for hours......maybe my problem is so obvious that no one ever had to ask !

I cannot get Ableton to receive the midi out of my Virus C, so i cannot record the control data from my knob twiddling. Midi in to virus-no problems.

my set up is:

Virus C midi out to midi in( ch1) on a emagic MT4
Virus C midi in to midi out (ch3) on a emagic MT4
Lopage set tp contr
hipage set topolyprs
device id omni
panel set to int+midi
or am i just missing something in Ableton? (sorry i know this is an Access forum)

this must be soooo easy..... would really be happy to proceed.

Hi, check if all your midi ins and outs are ON in Ableton into >preferences page.
Then check the proper cc you just recorded into Ableton's automation cc list into the midi clip.
